‘Never Grow Up’: Tyler Hynes Is Hallmark’s Favorite Fun-Loving Uncle

Hallmark star Tyler Hynes has had many roles in his acting career, the most memorable being Three Wise Men and a Baby. Meanwhile, it is clear from the actor’s Instagram that one of his favorite roles is visiting his two young nieces. In fact, Tyler has sworn to “never grow up” while having fun times with his brother Brandon’s daughters, Ella, 10, and Haylie, 12.

Whenever Hallmark star Tyler Hynes visits his brother’s home in Canada, he shares fun and clever videos on Instagram. In those videos, it is clear how much he adores his two nieces, Ella and Haylie. Whenever he visits his brother, Brandon, he has loads of fun getting creative with the two girls.

What with the SAG-AFTRA strike putting a pause on most television productions this summer, Hynes has had time to spend time with Ella and Haylie. While he vows to “never grow up”, he and the girls have so much fun and hijinks, while making very clever videos. Now, Tyler’s many fans can’t get enough of his posts about his nieces.

In his latest post, Tyler shared a series of images of his yoga workout with his niece Haylie. His fans were quick to comment, including one who wrote, “I believe your niece is making you work to keep up with her. Enjoy your time with her.”

Previous to that, on July 26, the actor posted a hilarious, slow-motion video to his Instagram. In this clip, Hynes can be seen wheeling a wheelbarrow of water balloons to a trampoline, then capturing the hilarious moments as all three of them bounced and burst the balloons. He captioned that post, “Uncle PSA ‘Never Grow Up’ #InternationalUncleDay.”

The Hallmark star’s fans couldn’t get enough of the hilarious clip, with one commenting, “I love all the love I see here Funcle Tyler.”

An explanation for the word “Funcle” was kindly revealed by another fan who wrote:

@tyler_hynes thought this was a great description of you!!! funcle [fuhn-kel] noun. 1. Like a regular uncle, just way cooler. 2. Well trained in the arts and tactics of fun and shenanigans. See also: handsome, exceptional, stylish, and perfect!

Of course, Tyler’s reputation as a funcle probably earned him points for his role in the Hallmark movie, Three Wise Men and a Baby. So much so, that his costar, Paul Campbell, who has a seven-year-old son, told People in December that Hynes was so good with the babies on the set of the film. In fact, this led to the cast calling Tyler the “baby whisperer.” Campbell said:

I think the most surprising thing is how good Tyler was with the babies. He was just like a natural-born baby whisperer. He would take the crying baby, and he would just walk around whispering things to it.

Now, fans can’t wait to see what Hynes’s next roles will bring, hopefully including some little ones for him to “never grow up” with.
