According to the official synopsis, and coming on November 11 on Hallmark Channel, In Merry Measure tells the story of pop singer Darcy (Murin), a one-hit wonder with dreams of rekindling her singing career. Meanwhile, when her recently widowed sister, Gretchen (Robertson) needs her, she returns to their Ohio hometown. However, when she gets there, she finds out her niece Megan (Cassidy Reichman) has been denied a spot on The Herald Angels, the high school caroling team of which Darcy was once the star.

However, when Darcy discovers that her old rival, Adam (Penny) is now leading the award-winning team, she enlists her niece to form a group of their own. Moreover, they go on to recruit other talented singers who didn’t make the cut.

The two teams agree to a sing-off and whichever wins will represent the school at the county’s annual Christmas Carol Competition. Meanwhile, the two coaches’ styles couldn’t be more different. For his part, Adam feels he has had to work hard for everything he has achieved and holds his students to a high standard while avoiding giving them false hope.

However, Darcy sees herself in her students and prefers to view their shortcomings as an “opportunity for impressive growth.” It wasn’t long before Darcy’s gentle approach helps her students to find their voices and have a real possibility of winning the sing-off.

With the competition approaching, the students come to realize they will have a better chance of winning if they combined groups. This forces the competing coaches to put aside their differences and work together. It isn’t long before Darcy and Adam’s relationship goes from rivalry to friendship, and soon to something more. However, an unexpected opportunity threatens to upend their newfound harmony.

About the cast of the Christmas movie

Patti Murin plays the role of pop singer Darcy and is known for her roles in Frozen on Broadway and Chicago Med. Meanwhile, Brendan Penny plays Adam, who has starred in Chesapeake Shores and BH90210.  Darcy’s widowed sister, Gretchen is played by Jennifer Robertson of Ginny & Georgia and Schitt’s Creek fame. Moreover, the role of Megan is played by a newcomer, Cassidy Reichman.

According to the official IMDb page, other cast includes Chris Carson as Jason, Garfield Wilson as Rick and Jude Wilson as Freddy.
