According to the official Hallmark press release, Ledisi plays Lisette Toussaint, a successful R&B singer whose life is at a crossroads, both professionally and personally. However, she finds herself the focus of media scrutiny this Christmas. Moreover, this happens when a photo of her with her ex-boyfriend, music producer Matthew Myles (Roger Cross) is misinterpreted as a sign of their surprise engagement.

As it will, words flew around the media at lightning speed and even reach her family in New Orleans, who tell her they expect them both to come home at Christmas. Meanwhile, Lisette and Matthew decide it is best to ride out the surge of publicity over the holidays for a good reason. They fear that setting the record straight would run the risk of making it look like it was just a PR stunt.

However, it would also take the focus away from Lisette’s legendary jazz musician father’s bit retirement concert in New Orleans. Set to happen on Christmas Eve, Lisette is scheduled to perform at the concert.

Meanwhile, once Lisette is back in the Big Easy, she shows Matthew her beloved city at Christmas. Moreover, with the help of her brash, beautiful and opinionated family, she reconnects with her roots, both musically and emotionally.

Most important of all, Lizette reconnects with Matthew. However, should she trust her heart to a man who already broke it once? Is she headed into another refrain of holiday heartache?
