Ready For Hallmark’s Countdown To Christmas 2021? Here’s What We Know So Far

There is truly something about Christmas that grabs people by the heart. The Hallmark Channel has recently aired the popular Christmas in July programming to great applause, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want more. Read on to find out what we know so far about Countdown to Christmas 2021.

It may still be a few months to Christmas, but fans are already excited about the upcoming festive programming. The Hallmark Channel has recently revealed some details of this year’s Countdown to Christmas.

So far, Hallmark is yet to reveal the full list of the Countdown to Christmas movies for this year, or their premiere dates. However, the above July 14 Instagram post did reveal that the programming event will start in 100 days. That places the start of our festive feast late in October, pretty much the same as in previous years.

 Hallmark Channel – New Festive Movies For 2021

As we recently reported, a brand new movie is coming, starring Jordin Sparks. The movie is titled A Christmas Treasure and also stars Michael Xavier. However, what truly makes this festive movie special is that Jordin will sing two classic Christmas songs, This Christmas and Oh Holy Night. It doesn’t get much more festive than that!

As a reminder, the story follows a woman named Lou (Sparks) who is forced to choose between working for her family’s newspaper in Pine Grove, or to move to New York to pursue her writing career. In the meantime, a chef by the name of Kyle (Xavier) is visiting the town and is also at a crossroads on his life. Both Lou and Kyle have doubts about their futures, but the connection they make, plus the magic of Christmas, helps them figure out what to do.

Up until now, details about other Christmas movies have been scarce, but there have been a few hints of which films could be in the programming this year. There is a movie in the works with the working title, The Search for Christmas. Starring Erin Cahill, the movie will start filming in Mississippi late in August 2021.

Meanwhile, and according to WECT, another film, titled Christmas in Harmony, is currently filming in Wilmington, NC.

Speaking of Christmas, Hearties are no doubt wondering if 2021 will see the return of the When Calls the Heart Christmas special. This is normally a feature-length episode of the popular drama, typically aired on Christmas Day. However, last year, with the pandemic and all, it was put on hold. While we do know that production is ongoing for the next season of When Calls the Heart, so far there is no news of a Christmas episode this year. Fans will just have to keep on hoping for the perfect Christmas gift!
