However, while many New England small towns feature in Hallmark’s movies, Newport has never been used before. Moreover, Newport Christmas marks the first time a Countdown to Christmas movie has been set in Rhode Island since the 1999 movie, A Season for Miracles.

Viewers will see what the holidays were like back in the Gilded Age of the Newport mansions, with all of them decorated for Christmas.

According to Moviedelic, the plot follows “a headstrong Newport-based woman from 1905 who is inexplicably pulled into the present day. After the bizarre time travel, she encounters a devoted historian fascinated by the mystery of her vanishing.”

“As they piece together the events that led to her transportation, she is forced to make a heart-wrenching decision – return to the past she knows, or stay in the present, experiencing love transcending time itself.”

Meanwhile, Wes Brown and Ginna Claire Mason are set to lead the upcoming holiday movie. Meanwhile, it will showcase the charm of Newport, with its signature waterfront views adding to the festivity.

Where in Newport is the holiday movie filming?

April 7 saw film crews working at Bowen’s Wharf in the city. Meanwhile, photos uploaded to social media show a Christmas tree, festive lights and cast members bundled up in winter coats at Bowen’s Wharf.

Meanwhile, Newport isn’t the only location for the movie, as before heading to Rhode Island, filming was also carried out in Buffalo, New York. However, no details were released.
