Saturday, June 29 saw Hallmark premiere the new, original movie, Falling Like Snowflakes as part of the network’s Christmas in July programming event. Starring Rebecca Dalton and Marcus Rosner, it tells the story of childhood friends out on a mission to photograph a rare, 12-sided snowflake.

The couple’s friendly chemistry in the movie was obvious, and it now turns out that Rebecca and Marcus are friends in real life. While this might sound great, Rosner did reveal that their friendship was more of a deterrent when making the movie.

Marcus recently spoke to Us Magazine about the new Hallmark Christmas in July movie where he admitted:

We had to work to be professional at times. We’re just so relaxed with each other.

Meanwhile, it turns out their spouses are also friends. Rosner, 34, is married to producer Alison Kroeker, and Dalton 35, is married to former IndyCar driver, James Hinchcliffe. Apparently, the couples have often gone camping together.

In the snowplow scene, Marcus and Rebecca’s characters are supposed to pretend to crash. However, according to Rosner, they would look at each other and then just crack up and start laughing. He added that they wasted everybody’s time. As most fans of Hallmark movies know, the feel-good has a tight schedule of around 15 days to film one movie.

The actor admitted that working with Rebecca was “pretty easy.” In fact, the two actors have often worked together and they both give each other as a recommendation. Moreover, with Falling Like Snowflakes, Marcus admitted that he was her “good word that got me this part, so that was something to be grateful for.

Speaking of the snowplow, Hallmark originally planned to let Marcus drive the vehicle, however, the producer changed his mind. While driving the plow was one of the selling points for Marcus when taking the role, it seems the producer was right. He explained:

I was expecting like a very like idealistic Hallmarky plow, and it was indeed one of the big city plows.

Meanwhile, Rosner told Us Weekly that if there had been a real blizzard, that plow would have had to work. On another note, something else that appealed to the actor was the science aspect of the script.

“I had no idea that there were 35 different kinds of snowflakes. And I had no idea what a 12-sided stellar dendrite was,” he added.
