According to the official synopsis, Danielle Smith (Mowry-Housley), a one-time off-Broadway performer and former backup singer, and Claire Ryan (Hobbs), a once-aspiring dancer, both had dreams of making it to the Broadway stage.
Meanwhile, many failed auditions later, Danielle is married to Mark (Cross) a successful lawyer. Moreover, she has a ballerina daughter, positioned for the NYC ballet and the family lives in the Upper East Side. As for Claire, she is a single mom raising two sons and works as a bookkeeper in the Garment District. With both women now consumed with motherhood, Danielle and Claire no longer have time for themselves and have put aside their own dreams.
However, Danielle’s brother RJ (Hampton) introduces the two moms after Claire starts taking classes at his dance studio. RJ is impressed with Claire’s dancing technique and wants to bring both women together to compete in a nationally-televised talent contest. Meanwhile, as Danielle and Claire start practicing for the show, they start to regain their sense of self and the passion they once had as performers.
However, when competition priorities arise with their families, causing them to reconsider, the two ladies ultimately realize they need to show up for themselves. Meanwhile, they also want to set an example to everyone to never give up their dreams.
Danielle and Claire compete in the talent contest, and with their families’ support learn it’s never too late to become what or who you want to be.
