In tonight’s The Chicken Sisters episode, Amanda went to Shawna’s. Shawna has an extra room. She also showed Amanda what she was refusing to see. Frank Jr. doesn’t respect her. He might not even love her. He got a vasectomy without telling her before or after and he knew that she wanted more kids.

Amanda wanted to give her daughter a sibling. It didn’t matter that she had a falling out with Mae. Their childhood was good because of Mae. Mae protected her. They loved each other. Amanda wanted Frankie to have that too. It’s also why Mae tried to warn Amanda against marrying Frank Jr.

Mae could see that he wasn’t right for Amanda. Her sister deserved so much more. She was truly talented. Amanda refused to listen to her back then. She thought at the time she had been truly in love with Frank Jr. and the truth was something else.

It came out when Amanda was looking for a new place to stay. Shawna could only put her up for the night. She has another side hustle. She sells her spare room on a rental site. She has a great rating and she didn’t want to lose that by cancelling on someone at the last minute. She graciously kicked Amanda out.

Amanda then tried her mother’s. Gus was glad about Amana’s marriage breaking up. She just couldn’t put Amanda up. She told her to try elsewhere. She also closed the door in Amanda’s face in spite of her daughter telling her she has nowhere else to go.

She also doesn’t have money. She was cash strapped. She went to the hotel hoping to put it on a few credit cards. They were booked out. The town was overflowing with people that wanted to be there for “Kitchen Klash”. Amanda brought a lot of business to their town.

It also worked against her. Amanda needed a place to stay. Mae offered her second bed in her hotel room and Amanda had to take it. It was that or stay by Patrick’s. He was hosting Sergio. Someone Amanda wasn’t willing to face anytime soon.

Sergio gave her the best kiss of her life. He might have been a new beginning and Amanda let him get away because she tried fighting for her marriage. Well, look what it got her? She also couldn’t apologize to him. She told him that what happened could never happen again and he replied with a thumbs up emoji.

Amanda thought that must mean he didn’t care. She didn’t know about him at karaoke. He literally sang one of Selena’s greatest love ballads because he was so broken up about her staying with her husband. So, Amanda took that extra bed. She had to.

She took it and then she finally started talking to her sister again. They truly talked. Amanda mentioned everything that her husband did. This included taking her for granted. Mae admitted she did some of that herself. She came clean to Jay about everything. And she hasn’t heard back from him.

The two sisters did more than mere talking. They laughed. They played. They ate pie together. Patrick doesn’t like Mae and so he only gave a slice to Amanda. Amanda being the good person that she is had then shared it with her big sister.

Amanda also held Mae as Mae cried to sleep. She really loved Jay. She hadn’t wanted to tell him about her past or her mother because she was ashamed of it. She now see that lying about it was in itself unhealthy. She came clean. She confessed to her lies and she doesn’t know if Jay can still love her after this.

Sabrina saw them having a pillow sack race in the hallways. She thought they were weirdos. Not that she could judge. She was still hungover from the Drop and her daughter loved mocking her about it. Linzey asked for her cell phone back while her mother was at her low point.

She got it too. Sarbina thought Linzey would be stuck on her phone all day and Linzey surprised her. Linzey didn’t mind the town. She was actually starting to see Frankie as a friend. Frankie confessed some secrets to her. Linzey offered advice.

Linzey also said something that stuck with Frankie. She said she didn’t mind her parents’ divorce. They were both so miserable that the end was a release. They were happier now and she was reaping the benefits. Linzey has two bedrooms. Two Christmases.

Her life was good or so she put on in front of Frankie. In truth, Linzey was losing her father. He’s been so wrapped up in his new fiancé that he was spending extra money on Linzey but not time with her. She was a typical teenager. She enjoyed it at first and then she realized he was using the money as a substitute for actually being her father.

Her dad was no longer interested in being a dad. He wasn’t returning her calls as he used to. Which was big because everyone knows his phone is glued to his hand. He was constantly working when he wasn’t focusing on his new fiancé. He took his phone everywhere.

He would also answer it if it was work. It didn’t matter the occasion. Him not answering Linzey’s messages or calls made her realize she was no longer a priority. She started crying and her mother comforted her. Sabrina could have used the opportunity to make herself look good.

She instead told her daughter that anyone who doesn’t see her as a priority was a fool. Sabrina taught her daughter to prioritize being appreciated. Being respected. She loves her daughter and she was hard on her because she was doing her best to be a good mom to her.

She admitted sometimes she suck at it. Linzey told her mom that she didn’t suck all the time. It was the biggest compliment from her teenager that she’s had in years. Linzey then tried to push it too far. She asked if she could go to Burning Man and her mom shot it down.

Sabrina’s hangover was helped by that handsome helpful man from town. She also got great shots for the tv show. Gus and Nancy argued. This show along with the feud had split the town. People were rooting for Mimi’s. Or Frannie’s. They also targeted the other.

The final straw for Nancy was when she tried to make peace. She went over to replant Gus’s flowers. Someone had tore them out because of the feud. Nancy tried apologizing for it and, when that didn’t work, she tried to fix it herself. Her pastor told the congregation that this feud was ridiculous. The town shouldn’t be divided because of chicken.

Nancy tried to replant the flowers. She tried to follow the pastor’s advice. It resulted in Gus setting the hose on her. She sprayed Nancy. They argued and that’s when their real problem came out. Nancy couldn’t understand why Gus didn’t love Amanda like she deserved to be.

Amanda was the best daughter. She’s always tried with her mother. Amanda needed a mom and Nancy was so glad that she got to be there for her because Amanda was the child she always wanted. What Nancy couldn’t understand was why Gus didn’t appreciate the gift she had been given.

Their argument escalated. They were getting physical until they noticed the camera crew. Sabrina was catching all the drama for the tv show.

The two women went their separate ways after that and that’s when it was revealed the real reason Gus didn’t take Amanda in after she walked out of her marriage.

Gus was a hoarder who has only gotten worse.. Amanda’s old room was full of junk that Gus couldn’t let go. It pushed her daughters away. Mae ran off the first chance she could to New York. She tried to take Amanda with her and Amanda turned her down.

Amanda married Frank Jr. She wanted to escape their mom. She also told her sister that she wasn’t strong like her. Mae was brave enough to move to a different city and start over without anyone. She shoots for the stars. Amanda preferred the ground.

She thought he was the best she was going to do. She was also going to stick with him. Mae tried to talk her out of it and Amanda said something cruel. Mae quickly realized she couldn’t keep saving her sister. Amanda has to save herself now. Mae said that out loud. A few overheard her.

Patrick gave her pie. Mae’s comment also helped her niece finally see that her mother wasn’t happy. It reminded her of what Linzey’s said. Frankie thought her parents were happy because they never argued. She liked the idea of her family staying together.

She talked her dad into showing up at the hotel with flowers. He said what Frankie taught him to say. He told Amanda she was the love of his life and that wasn’t true. He was a selfish and lazy man. He wanted Amanda back because he couldn’t be by himself.

Frank Jr. didn’t know how to do laundry. He didn’t do the cooking or cleaning at home. Or wake himself up in the morning. He was a dummy.

He was good at one thing. He makes great chicken. Frankie thought her father was just putting himself down until the family brought Amanda home.

Frank Jr. wasn’t going to change anything about himself. He was going to keep the vasectomy and keep being selfish. Frankie just uses Amanda. He was so ungrateful for everything she did and she only came back so that she wouldn’t break up her family.

And what neither her husband nor her daughter realized was that Amanda didn’t come back just for them, but also because she didn’t want to lose Nancy as her mom.

THE END!
