On tonight’s The Chicken Sisters episode, Nancy was raised to be happy with what she has. Not want she didn’t have. She married the guy that her parents wanted her to marry.

She stopped at one child because her husband didn’t want more children only there was a part of her that always wanted a daughter.

She thought she finally got one when her son married Amanda. Nancy loves Amanda. Amanda was the daughter she never had. They worked side by side. They were a happy family and then Nancy saw that Amanda wasn’t as happy as she was.

Nancy saw Amanda kissing someone that wasn’t her son. Her perfect daughter wasn’t so perfect. She also put Nancy in a horrible position.

Nancy couldn’t let Amanda continue to cheat on her son, but she didn’t want to lose Amanda either. Nancy ultimately tried to do what she was taught to do.

She buried her pain. She pretended that she was taking a new supplement that played with her memory. It gave her the chance to move on and not have to talk about what she saw. The only downside was that Amanda didn’t want to ignore what happened.

Amanda wanted to talk. She wanted to be honest with someone if not herself. She wanted to open up to someone and Nancy kept trying to tell her that she didn’t want it to be that person. The only other person she could talk to about this was perhaps her sister.

It’s sad that they’re no longer close. Mae was back in town. She was physically closer than ever. She just wasn’t back for Amanda or the right reason. Mae was back for the tv show. She claimed she wanted to assist her mom with “Kitchen Clash” and Gus called her out. Gus said Mae was only back because her career hit a wall.

Mae was trying revive that career by pretending to be the dutiful daughter on tv. She wasn’t close to her mother either. Even Nancy noticed that Gus wasn’t the best mother. She tries to be nice only she said what everyone was thinking.

Gus pushed both of her daughters away and Nancy said as much to Gus’s face. They all ran into each other at Shawna’s. Shawna was preparing for the Drop. The Drop was the event of the season for their town. Merinac always comes out for it. Mae didn’t want to attend at first.

Mae didn’t want to run into Gus or Amanda. The sisters fought years ago. They haven’t really spoken since. It’s why Amanda was still living under false illusions.

When Nancy told off Gus, Gus couldn’t wait to ditch the party for something better. She was off. The sisters forgot their anger with each other long enough to joke about their mom together.

Amanda mentioned when their mom used to make mac and cheese with water. Mae realized then that Amanda didn’t understand how bad it was at home.

They used water because they couldn’t afford milk. They also played hide and seek in the dark because the lights usually got turned off by the city.

Mae came up with that game so that her sister wouldn’t be scared. Amanda instead got to look forward to when the lights were turned off. It didn’t last forever. Mae would get the lights turned back on using the tips she earned at her job. A

manda never knew what Mae did to protect her and give her a childhood. Amanda was just angry that Mae disowned her. She didn’t ask herself why.

Amanda was still angry. It didn’t matter that she now knew Mae kept her safe. She snottily asked her sister if she wanted a medal or something. She then stormed off. She found Nancy alone. She finally confronted her about what Nancy saw that night.

That was when Nancy stopped pretending. Nancy did see Amanda break her wedding vows. Nancy also knew how tough marriage could be. She said back when she was courting with her husband – he made a mistake. He cheated on her with Gus. He confessed everything to Nancy. She forgave him and that’s when he proposed.

It wasn’t smooth sailing after that either. They had ups and downs. Nancy chose to make her marriage work. She made peace with what she couldn’t change.

She advised Amanda to do the same. Amanda has a family. She finally has the mother she always wanted. It didn’t matter that her husband wasn’t great.

They made vows to each other. Which was something Nancy put great stock in. She thought the same of Amanda and Amanda didn’t want to keep disappointing her. Amanda later sent a message to Sergia saying that what they had was over.

Amanda was recommitting to her marriage. Or she would have if she hadn’t heard the gossip. The Drop was the social event because Shawna drinks too much and starts dropping the tea. Amanda threw up in the bathroom. Someone overheard her and assumed she was pregnant.

The very drunk Shawna that wasn’t it because Amanda’s husband had gotten a vasectomy. Amanda didn’t know about it. She found out about it at the party and the same for Nancy. They were both disappointed. Amanda left the party in embarrassment.

It was then that Mae snapped. Mae wasn’t working at her company anymore. She lied to her fiancé about where she was from and she didn’t tell anyone any of this because this town made her feel ashamed of herself. Of her family. She was a Mimi’s girl.

She wasn’t going to run away from that anymore. Mae was opportunistic because she was tired of just surviving. Its why she betrayed Sabrina. They were close until Mae stole a job that Sabrina told her about it. Sabrina had a rich husband at the time. Mae didn’t and so she thought it was only fair to double cross her.

Sabrina has since gotten divorce. She has her own show now. Her husband was getting remarried to someone half her age and so she needed a drink.

The town stopped selling alcohol after a certain point. The Drop was the only place that still had it because Shawna was selling her leggings.

Anyways, Sabrina was at the party when Mae yelled at everyone. They finally talked. Sabrina had needed that job that Mae stole because she wanted to be near her daughter’s school. Her ex got custody because Sabrina couldn’t afford a place nearby.

They talked about it when Amanda was telling her husband that she knew. She knew about the vasectomy. She didn’t know if she could forgive him and so she went somewhere else to spend the night.

Mae called her fiancé to finally tell him the truth.

And Gus wasn’t as bad as people claimed. She wasn’t a good person only she did love her children. She wouldn’t let anyone else badmouth them.

THE END!
