Good Witch Fans Could See The Franchise Make A Magical Return!

Sunday nights on the Hallmark Network just haven’t been the same since the end of the beloved Good Witch series last summer. The show came to a surprising end in its seventh season in 2021 when the show was canceled by the network due to a rumored decline in viewership.

Good Witch – Fan Base Still Strong & Asking For Season 8

While network ratings may not have been what executives of Hallmark wanted to see it is clear a large amount of Good Witch fans still remain and would love to see Cassie Nightingale (Catherine Bell) and the gang make a return. Even cast members of the long running series are still chiming in about seeing the show make a return one day.

Actor James Denton, who played Cassie’s husband, Dr. Sam Radford, recently spoke out about the series and a possible Good Witch season 8. Earlier this month, James Denton discussed the show while speaking with TV Insider.

Good Witch – Actor Hopes Series Will Return

“I think there’s a chance,” he told the outlet when asked if he could see himself stepping back into the shoes of his fictional character Sam Radford.

Denton added, ”I know [with] the popularity of the show and the circumstances under which it ended sort of abruptly that it would not surprise me if we revisit it.”

In an effort to avoid giving Good Witch fans false hope, the former Desperate Housewives also shared that “There’s nothing in the works, but I think the odds are decent just because I know the network respects the franchise. It ran for 14 years between the movies and the series.”

Hallmark – Gives Good Witch Fans Hope The Show Will Return

During the time that the Good Witch TV series was canceled, the Hallmark Network was in the midst of rebranding. The network changed from Crown Media to Hallmark Media. The rebranding is thought to be part of the reason the long running series was canceled as the network reevaluated its line up.

Since Good Witch’s ending, President and CEO Wonya Lucas has responded to fans and their push for an eight season of the show. Lucas has told fans to “stand by.” Adding, “Postables send a lot of letters. We read them. The fandom and the passion for that franchise … We listen. We hear.”
