Hallmark Spoilers – Laura Osnes Replaced Due To Vaccination status

A source recently told Page Six that Laura Osnes was supposed to star in a one-night musical production in East Hampton. The musical, Crazy for You, is to premiere on August 29 at Guild Hall in the town. Laura was said to have been fired because she was unvaccinated. However, while it is confirmed that she is no longer performing in the production, there are conflicting reports on why she is not appearing. At the time of writing, Osnes herself has made no statement about losing her role.

According to the source, her co-star, Tony Yazbeck, was worried about her vaccination status, as he has children at home. Reportedly, she had shared that she chose not to get vaccinated just yet, due to safety concerns.

Hallmark – Who Replaced Laura Osnes?

Josh Gladstone, the artistic director of the theater airing the musical, said Laura was replaced by Sierra Boggess. He said in a statement that they have a requirement now, along the lines of what Actors’ Equity and Broadway are requiring for performances. Gladstone said they were very excited with the cast they have and are delighted that Susan has put together a beautiful evening.

The artistic director said they are sorry not to have Laura in the production and look forward to working with her again in the future. However, he added they are concerned about maintaining the safety of their staff and their audiences.

Despite this, Guild Hall wouldn’t confirm that Osnes had been let go over her vaccination status. A representative did confirm that she had left. However, they also clarified that Guild Hall allows performers to either produce proof of vaccination, or proof of a negative COVID-19 test. On the other hand, Broadway shows require performers and their audiences to submit proof of vaccination.
