Lori Loughlin was released in December 2020 after two months in prison for her role in the college admissions scandal. At that time, Hearties pondered on whether Abigail would return to Hope Valley and the Hallmark Channel. It was confirmed by Deadline on September 28 that Loughlin was indeed returning to the Hallmark Channel. Her co-star, Erin Krakow, was quick to respond to the news.
Hallmark Channel News – Erin Krakow Responds To News Lori Loughlin Was Returning To Hallmark
When Calls the Heart fans admittedly have mixed feelings to hear that Lori Loughlin will be reprising her role as Abigail Stanton. She will return to the Hallmark Channel in season 2 of the WCTH spinoff, When Hope Calls.
A two-part premiere titled When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas is set to air on Saturday, December 18. While most of her fans are excited, Lori’s castmate, Erin Krakow, couldn’t wait to show her reaction to the news. She shared an image on Instagram of herself hugging her co-star a few days after the news was announced, captioned with a double pink heart emoji.
Hallmark Channel News – About The College Admissions Bribery Scandal
Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli were put behind bars after pleading guilty to charges in the 2019 nationwide college admissions bribery scandal. Reportedly, the couple planned to have their two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as rowing recruits, despite never having been involved with the sport. Thanks to the scandal, neither daughter is currently attending the college.
After the news broke in March 2019, the Hallmark Channel immediately cut ties with Loughlin. At the time, she was starring as Abigail in season 6 of When Calls the Heart. Despite the fact that they love the character of Abigail, fans had mixed feelings over their part in the scandal. However, the show’s creator and her co-star had firm feelings.

Hallmark Channel News – Wanting Abigail back
Erin Krakow and the show’s creator, Brian Bird, have openly spoken about wanting Loughlin to return to Hope Valley all along. In 2019, Bird said, “Some of the fans have asked what will happen to Abigail’s character, and shared their opinion that Hope Valley should be an example of forgiveness and grace. As Lori’s friend, I could not agree more.” It turned out forgiveness was exactly what Lori received.
Erin also said openly that she loves Lori and would be “so happy to see her back in Hope Valley.” She added that Loughlin is always in her heart and that this would bring her joy.
Meanwhile, as recently reported by Us Weekly, Loughlin “can’t wait to get back to work” and is looking forward to what comes next.
As a reminder, the first of a two-part premiere titled When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas is set to air on Saturday, December 18 on the Hallmark Channel.

Isn’t the information incorrect in this story? When Hope Calls will appear on the competitive channel, GAC, not on Hallmark!!!!
Won't be Hallmark channel…
I think it is great. I’d sure like to see Garage Sale Mysteries return also. We al make mistakes and I’m glad to see Hallmark take this step with her.
I wish Garage
Sale Mysteries would return-love her in that series
Unfortunately it was not Hallmark that took the step to bring back Lori. She will be on When Hope Calls on GAC family.
Well either way she'll be acting because we all now know miss goody two shoes is nothing like the moral women she portrays. She is a person totally ok with swindling hardworking children and doesn't believe there is anything wrong or shameful about it, she disgusts me.
