“When Call The Heart”: Hallmark Channel Posts Statement About Neill Fearnley’s Passing
Fearnley directed about a dozen WCTH episodes, as well as multiple Hallmark Channel movies. Sadly, he passed away after a battle with ALS.
As such, the Hallmark Channel paid tribute to Neill via their Instagram account. Posting a photo of Fearnley, they added the following caption: “Hearties, it’s with profound heavy hearts today that we bid farewell to When Calls the Heart director Neill Fearnley, who passed away on July 13 after a long fight with ALS.
Neill was vital to making When Calls the Heart the beloved show it is today, and he will be sorely missed by the entire Heartie community and everyone who had the honor of knowing him (heart emoji).”
Fans flooded the comment section, including former Hallmark Channel star and current Great American Family (GAF) star, Danica McKellar, who posted three praying emojis.
It’s Been A Weekend Off Loss
It’s been a very difficult weekend for the entertainment industry and the world of sports when it comes to loss.
Not only did Richard Simmons (age 76), Shannon Doherty (age 53), and NFL player Jacoby Jones (age 40) pass away, film star Shelley Duval (age 75) passed away the Thursday before the weekend hit, and Dr. Ruth Weistheimer (age 96) died on Friday, July 12.
WCTH is currently filming Season 12 in the Greater Vancouver area as production officially began earlier this week.
On behalf of everyone here, we send our deepest condolences to Neill’s family, friends, loved ones, and fans. Our thoughts and best wishes are also with the cast and crew of WCTH, as well as everyone at the Hallmark Channel.
