“When Call The Heart”, Season 12: Filming Is Officially Underway!

While Hearties everywhere patiently (or impatiently) wait for the Hallmark Channel to drop a premiere date for When Calls The Heart (WCTH), Season 12, which will likely be sometime in 2025, there is some exciting news! It looks like progress is being made in the form of filming and production for the new season.

On Monday, July 15, WCTH star Kevin McGarry (Nathan Grant) posted an interesting video on his Instagram Stories, confirming he’s back at work.

This information may not have been overly shocking, as many of the show’s out-of-town cast members had already arrived back in the Greater Vancouver area, where the show films. In fact, it’s been reported that quite a few costume fittings have already taken place.

Still, McGarry’s video snippet that simply had the words, “It begins … WCTH 12”, across it, caused a stir.

Kevin revealed he was in his WCTH dressing room trailer in the IG Story, as well as Nathan Grant’s costume, and a quick view of him filming it all in the mirror.

“WCTH”, Season 12 – What Should Fans Expect

As filming has just resumed for the show, it’s hard to say what Season 12 has in store for Hearties.

Still, with the cliffhanger in Season 11, there’s a good chance that the show explains what the unexpected information about Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) will be and how it will affect the romance between Nathan and Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow).

Jack is dead, and according to reports there are no plans to bring the character back to life, so it’ll be interesting to see how this storyline unfolds in Season 12.

In addition, fans have to see what’s next for Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) off the cusp of his crisis in Season 12, as well as Leland “Lee” Coulter’s (Kavan Smith) decisions for the future.

Of course, Mei Sou (Amanda Wong) and Mike Hickam (Ben Rosenbaum) are now married, so there are sure to be some storylines for the couple, as they navigate through life in Hope Valley as husband and wife.
