When Lori Loughlin was found to be a part of the college admissions scandal, Hallmark Channel was quick to fire her from When Calls the Heart. However, her fans could see her back on the show. This comes as its co-creator, Brian Bird, has said there have been “good conversations” about bringing her character back.

As reported by Us Weekly, Brian Bird, 66, spoke on a Heart to Hearties podcast episode earlier this month. He said:

Our attitude always has been, as the producing team around the writing team around When Calls the Heart, that what better place for second chances than Hope Valley? So, in theory, it should work, right? But again, can’t fully promise it, but we’re working on it.

Fans were dismayed when Hallmark Channel cut ties with Loughlin, 59, after the news broke of her involvement in the college admissions scandal. At that time in 2019, she had played widow Abigail Stanton for six seasons of WCTH until Crown Media Family Networks confirmed that they were no longer working with the Full House alum.

How is Lori Loughlin doing these days?

While Bird can’t guarantee a return of Lori as Abigail, he did give an update on her current well-being. He said on the podcast that she was doing really good adding:

She’s assured us that she’s found some peace, and she’s made it through her and her husband’s ordeal and she’s in a much better place than she was.

Readers will recall that Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli were indicted after they “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters (Bella and Olivia Jade Giannulli) designated as recruits for the USC crew team.” This was to facilitate their admission to the university even though they were not on the team.

Loughlin went on to face two months behind bars, along with two years of supervised release, 100 hours of community service and a $150,000 fine.

I’ve tried for years to get Brian Bird to realize that firing her was a bad mistake. Over 4, 432 fans in my group stopped watching When Calls the Heart over that and Erin not picking Kevin for the win. The dear School Marm picked the bad boy saloon keeper instead. Now this character did bad things and lied and much else but yet we fire in real life a wonderful special character because she made a mistake a first one. So YES, all of Want Lori back in Hope Valley if she wants to come back for sure. We have missed her so much and a lot of the characters from there too. Bring her back to When Hope Calls and we will watch her there and will stay off the When Calls The Heart boards as we’ve done for years.
