Chris McNally, the actor who plays the role of Lucas Bouchard, teased that he’ll develop a closer relationship with Elizabeth’s son. In a behind-the-scenes video, the actor teased what to expect from Lucas when the show returns in March.

When Calls The Heart Season 9 will pick up a few months after where season 8 ended. After last season’s finale, some fans were worried over Lucas’ lack of interaction with Elizabeth’s child. Some viewers feared that he was not a good match for her because he was not trying to get close to her son.

In a conversation with Paul Greene on The Grass is Greener podcast back in 2021, McNally explained that his character was supposed to be interacting with Elizabeth’s son. Unfortunately, this didn’t make it into last season’s episodes.

“Lucas had scenes with baby Jack. They just got cut,” McNally said.

“They were there, they were written. But due to time, for whatever reason, they were gone,” she continued.
Elizabeth Krakow Teases “Beautiful Moments” Between Lucas and Jack

In season 9, fans will see Lucas, Elizabeth, and the latter’s child, spend more time together.

“There are so many reasons Elizabeth is falling for him,” Krakow said. She described Lucas as kind and supportive.

She also teased that they will be sharing “many beautiful moments” and little Jack will play an important role in that connection. The actress added that it’ll be the beginning of a “beautiful journey” for the new couple.

Chriss McNally Lands New Gig

As fans wait for When Calls The Heart Season 9 to premiere on March 6, they should also watch out for Netflix’s Firefly Lane. The series will be on its second season and it’ll feature McNally as well.

In a report by Deadline, it’s been revealed that he’s playing the role of Mr. Waverly, a “charismatic new English teacher.” The actor is also part of the cast of the Rise of the Pink Ladies.
