When Calls The Heart Spoilers – Abigail Stanton Was A Vital Character For Six Seasons
Abigail Stanton, played by Lori Loughlin, was a vital character on WCTH for six seasons; following her role in the college admissions scandal, the show wrote her character out.
Hearties, including Erin Krakow, are optimistic about her potential return; it’s been two years since she left Hope Valley, but it feels like yesterday.
When the news about Lori Loughlin’s involvement in the college admissions scandal came out, Hallmark Channel immediately ended their association with her, fearing unfavorable backlash from fans and sponsors.
She was playing the character of Abigail in the sixth season of When Calls the Heart. Since the show was still airing season 6, they took a break for a month to plan their next move, eventually they decided to completely remove Abigail from the show.
WCTH Spoilers – Elizabeth Thatcher Addressed The Exit Of Abigail Stanton Onscreen
Erin Krakow’s character, Elizabeth Thatcher, made it clear that Abigail’s departure from Hope Valley wouldn’t diminish her significance to the community in season 7’s premiere episode.
Elizabeth emphasized Abigail was more than just a friend; she was considered family as Hope Valley’s schoolteacher, and despite missing Abigail and Cody Stanton (Carter Evancic), the community would remain strong.
Abigail adopted Cody, an orphaned student in her school and she also adopted his sister Rebecca Stanton (Ali Skovbye), her husband and son having been killed in a mine explosion.
The mention of Abigail continues in Hope Valley, particularly through Bill Avery, (Jack Wagner) who continues to run Abigail’s Café which she also opened.
This has sparked hope among some fans that Abigail may return in the future, now that Lori Loughlin’s sentence has run its course.
When Calls The Heart Spoilers – The Show’s Cast And Crew Are Ready For A Return
The cast and crew of the show appear to support Abigail’s return. Brian Bird, the show’s creator, mentioned that Hope Valley should be a forgiving place, especially after Abigail’s departure.
“Some of the fans have asked what will happen to Abigail’s character, and shared their opinion that Hope Valley should be an example of forgiveness and grace. As Lori’s friend, I could not agree more,” he told “From the Desk”.
Erin publicly supported her friend during the scandal and expressed her happiness at the idea of reuniting with her former co-star in an interview with Good Housekeeping.
Maybe this was the plan from the start-instead of killing off Abigail’s character they just said she left to take care of her sick mother; perhaps a return next season?
