When Calls The Heart Fan Favorite Was Originally In A Bit Part

Hearties have grown to love Pascale Hutton in the Hallmark series When Calls the Heart, but originally she was set for two episodes.

Hearties have come to love Pascale Hutton in the role of Rosemary Coulter on When Calls the Heart. While her character is about to have a baby with Leland Coulter (Kavan Smith), it turns out the Sanctuary actress was originally only to star in two episodes. Meanwhile, Hutton opened up in a recent podcast to explain how she turned her minor role into a major part of WCTH.

Pascale Hutton originally had a bit part in When Calls the Heart

As When Calls the Heart continues on Hallmark Channel, fans have fallen in love with Pascale Hutton’s character, Rosemary Coulter. However, originally, it wasn’t planned for her to be a series regular. In fact, in the Colin Egglesfield podcast, Hutton explained how she turned her small role in two episodes into a major part of the series, saying:

I was on another TV series. I was a series regular on another show. I kind of went in [to the audition for WHEN CALLS THE HEART] just on a lark.

At that time, I thought it was just supposed to be a two-episode guest arc. So I thought, ‘This seems like something fun to do during my hiatus.’ I didn’t know what I was getting into at the time.

Meanwhile, it turned out there was a line in the script at the end of Hutton’s second episode that revealed Rosemary’s story was far from over. Initially, Pascale wasn’t sure if she could continue starring in When Calls the Heart, due to a role she was playing in another show. However, once that show was canceled, Hutton’s time was cleared up to become a WCTH series regular. She hasn’t looked back since that time.

Premiere date of WCTH season 10

Recently, Hallmark announced the premiere date for When Calls the Heart season 10, while confirming that season 11 is in the works. In fact, season 10 is set to premiere on July 30 and will have a total of 12 episodes. Just Jared reported that when Erin Krakow was asked for her reaction to the show’s renewal, the actress that plays Elizabeth Thornton said:

I am beyond excited for season 10 of When Calls The Heart to premiere.

This season is full of beautiful moments and exciting twists and turns. I can’t wait for the Hearties to see what we’ve created for them!

Meanwhile, Krakow said how “thrilled, proud and grateful” she was to Hallmark that the show was renewed for season 11. Erin added that they have “so many more stories to tell,” adding:

With our amazing cast, crew, and brilliant writers, there will be no shortage of romance and new adventures for the residents of Hope Valley!

Meanwhile, Hearties don’t have too long to wait for season 10 of When Calls the Heart to premiere on July 30, 2023.
