Rosemary wants Lee to take it easy, she takes him to the office, he gets a telegram and it’s from his sister, she will be visiting the next day.

Elizabeth is at home, Laura takes the baby. Lucas is at the door, Frank Branson wants to talk to her, he is a publisher, he is waiting for her call.

Elizabeth is upset, Fiona is leaving the telephone office. She asks her to place the call for her to the publisher. She finds out how much she will make and she looks shocked.

At the office, Rosemary is overly worried about Lee and driving her crazy, he asks her to go to the dress shop. She asks why he is not more excited to see his sister. He says that he offered to go see her and she sends a telegram, it tells him that things haven’t changed between the two of them. Rosemary tells him that it is something that she is coming.

Henry almost faints over breakfast. He ends up at the doctor’s office and finds out that his blood pressure is higher than it was last time.

Elizabeth is so excited, she leaves the telephone office. Lucas and she leave the office, Nathan is there, he tells him that Elizabeth just got a book deal.

Elizabeth goes to see Rosemary, she is surprised to see the place so clean, she tells her that Lee’s sister is visiting. Elizabeth tells her that the publisher is paying her an advance for her book. Rosemary reminds her that sooner or later she is going to have to decide between Luca and Nathan. We all have our own path when the time is right to choose, she will know.

Bill stops by to see Nathan, he says he wanted to stay put for a couple of weeks, but now because of his prisoner, he needs to go. The prisoner’s family hired a lawyer in Buxton and they both will have to go.

Rosemary and Lee are waiting for the stagecoach that holds his sister. Susanna comes out and they all shake hands. They share a meal at home, Rosemary goes to clean up and leaves them alone to talk. She tells Lee that she and her husband own a furniture store.

Rosemary shares that Lee owns a lumber supply company. He asks about her husband, she says he is good, she also has a grown daughter and son. She says it is late and will be going to the hotel. Rosemary says that she already made up the guest room, which is not necessary, but Susanna feels that she will feel more comfortable at the hotel.

Elizabeth goes to see Hendy check on him, she knows about his scare the day before at the café. He tells her that Lucas pulled out yesterday and he doesn’t think he can keep this thing going without him. She goes to see Luca and asks him if it is true, he says yes. She is surprised, he tells her that he is paying the men out of his own pocket and fighting off the vendors. The way that Henry held the company, it why it is going down. She is sad, Henry is so proud of his company, and so many families depend on the money they make from the company. Elizabeth tells him that it is not his fault.

Susanna is in her hotel room, Lee drops by and asks what she is doing, she says going to bed. He bought her a bottle of sarsaparilla, she tells him that she hasn’t liked that in a long time, but invites him in. The two look at photos of their family when they were younger, she says she hasn’t looked at these in such a long time.

They see a picture of their brother, Patrick that passed away, they both agree that their parents were different after that. Lee says that he didn’t know that he was sick, she says she promised not to tell them. Susanna gets upset, she asks Lee to leave so she can go to bed.

Lucas goes to see Henry and tells him he will agree to remain his partner as long as he is an equal partner, too many people are relying on this company. Henry says no, and tells Lucas to take the door.

Lee gets home, Rosemary asks him if he wants to talk about, he says no.

Elizabeth gets back from a ride, Nathan is in the barn and helps her settle the horse. He tells her that he is happy that the publisher realized how good she is.

Rosemary goes to see Susanna, she tells her that it is time to let go of the things that happened in the past. She reveals that Lee almost died the week before and he said he didn’t want to leave this earth without reconciling with her. Susanna says that she is heading home. Rosemary says it is a long trip, she must want to reconcile with Lee, and she lost one brother already, it is not time to lose two.

Lucas tells Elizabeth that he made Henry an offer but was turned down. He says instead of being sad, they should celebrate her success. He asks her to meet her in the evening in the library.

Rosemary and Lee are at dinner when Susanna arrives at the door. She comes in and mentions her son, Patrick, Lee is happy that she named her son after their brother who passed away. Susanna tells Lee that she is not surprised that he has become such a success.

She says it was hard, their dad always thought Patrick was going to get better. He says he was so lost and so angry, and because of that he never got a chance to say he is sorry, and thank you so much for taking care of their father and doing everything on her own. She says she wishes she could take back these last twenty years, he says she and he both.

At the library, Lucas thanks Elizabeth for meeting her, he has dinner waiting for her and says he would like to toast her success with a glass of champagne. He takes her jacket and pours her a glass of champagne.

Fiona calls Mr. Nicholls and tells him that she wishes to speak to him how he spoke to her the other day.

Nathan comes out of his office, Elizabeth walks up and asks him if he is standing guard. He says he is waiting, he is heading out of town for a few days on business. He then asks her if she would like to have dinner with him at the café. He tells her to think about and she can let him know.

Henry tells Lucas that he won’t sign over majority ownership, but he will sell everything to him, lock, stock, and barrel.

Bill rides up on horseback and tells Nathan to hurry up, he thought he had a few hours.

Lucas tells Elizabeth that Lucas is out, he now has complete control of the company. It is what Henry wanted, and he knows next to nothing about the oil business.

Bill and Nathan are on horseback when a woman appears with a shotgun, her name is Jennie, her brother is the prisoner. Bill and Nathan try to encourage her to let down her weapon, Bill tells her cooperating goes a long way. There is another office who is riding the stagecoach with the prisoner and he shoots.

Lee and Rosemary are saying goodbye to Susanna, Lee says they can visit her next week. The two hugs, then Susanna hugs Rosemary and says thank you. Susanna drives off, Lee thanks Rosemary just for being her.

Fiona is outside enjoying the fresh air, she is staying in Hope Valley, but she was fired. Or, maybe she quit. Then she thinks about it, she was fired.

The coach is back, there is a gunshot wound. Elizabeth finds out that it is Nathan, she runs to see how he is, but it’s too late, he is gone. All of a sudden, we see Nathan walking towards Elizabeth, she sees him and runs into his arms. Obviously the prisoner’s sister shot the other officer before he had a chance to shoot her.
