Season 12 concluded with a shocking cliffhanger- Elizabeth and Little Jack Thornton (Erin Krakow, Hyland Goodrich) left their cherished Hope Valley to travel to Cape Fullerton, where Elizabeth’s mother-in-law resides.

This was because the area has the necessary medical facilities to care for the young boy’s diabetes. Just before their departure, Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and Allie Grant (Jaeda Lily Miller) accompanied them; now, the question is how long these four characters will stay away from Hope Valley?

New showrunner Joy Gregory hasn’t revealed much about what lies ahead; still, she mentioned that Nathan and Bill Avery (Jack Wagner) are facing a significant challenge near Hope Valley.

Furthermore, Season 13 will depict Elizabeth navigating numerous struggles, particularly as a mother to a young son with diabetes.

This situation will compel her character to evolve in various ways; however, Gregory has also warned that they won’t focus heavily on Little Jack’s diabetes.
