In February 2024, Erin Krakow went Instagram official with her co-star Ben Rosenbaum. Their co-stars Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace announced their engagement in December 2022.
Ahead of the Season 11 premiere of When Calls the Heart, Krakow talked about the real-life romances sparked by the love stories from Hope Valley. She revealed why love abounds on the Hallmark Channel series.
“I think there’s just always been a bit of magic in Hope Valley,” Krakow told People. “There’s something so special about our show and the energy in Jamestown, where we shoot.”
The When Calls the Heart cast films the show in British Columbia, Canada. Just two months ago, Krakow announced her relationship with Ben Rosenbaum.
She posted a series of photos of herself nuzzling up to the co-star. The couple posed in front of a city skyline. Krakow simply captioned the post with an anatomically correct heart, signifying that this was a deep love.
Erin Krakow portrays schoolteacher Elizabeth Thatcher in the series. Rosenbaum plays the role of Mike Hickham, who recently became the Mayor at the end of WCTH Season 1. That was the time when Hope Valley was still referred to as Coal Valley.

During her interview, Krakow talked about how the show brings people together. It’s about the Heartie magic.
“And I know that’s not the most romantic illustration of what makes Hope Valley magical, but I do think there’s just something special about the show and the people involved,” Erin Krakow explained. “When you put a bunch of special people together in one place, connections are bound to be made.”
When Calls the Heart Season 11 premiered on Sunday, April 7 at 9 p.m. Elizabeth ended her engagement to Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) at the end of Season 10. She wanted to stay in Hope Valley. He was elected as the new governor of Union City.
Elizabeth is now opening her heart to someone new. She plans to explore her connection to Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) in the new series.
