Elizabeth feels betrayed by Lucas but helps him get the oil company’s records from Gowen. Nathan goes undercover. Fiona gets bad news.

Tonight’s episode of WCTH opens with Clara going to see Jesse who asks her if there is any news, she says no. He blames himself for what happened in the windstorm. The townsfolk are gathered, they are waiting for word on Lee.

Elizabeth goes to see Carson to see if Lee is ok, she finds him with Rosemary and he is buttoning up his shirt to leave, he seems fine. He took a really good bang to the head, other than a headache if it should be fine. Rosemary tells him that a tree fell on him when he was out in the windstorm looking for Jesse.

Lee leaves the doctor’s office and is honored to see so many people that stayed in the city to make sure that he was ok.

Lee is happy to be home, he tells Rosemary to let him have it about how he put himself in danger and should not have been in a windstorm. She says no, that speech went right out the window, she is just so glad to have him home.

Elizabeth goes to see Nathan, he is just about to head to the train station. She says they should talk about yesterday and asks him what was that. He says a lot happened up there and he would like to leave it there. She tells him to stop shutting her out. She says this is clearly more about her running out to find Emily. She asks if he would like to know how she ended up in Union City with Lucas, he asked.

Lucas arrives to collect the company’s financials. He tells Henry right now it is a disagreement amongst partners, he hopes he doesn’t make it more than that.

Rosemary is at home with Lee, he says he has been very lucky in life, but it is a gift and he would be a fool if he had any regrets.

Elizabeth welcomes her class, she explains that Emily needed a day off due to what happened in the windstorm.

Rosemary finds Lee going over a box of old momentoes, he says he stuck the box in the attic when they first moved in. She finds a photo of him and a little girl, he says it is his little sister, she reminds him that he does not have a little sister. He explains that her name is Susanna and she is one year old than he is, they haven’t talked in years now. He goes on to say that after Patrick died, things were never the same again. His mother passed, and there was so much pain and so much anger. He left when he was 18, a couple of years later he found out his father died and he missed his father’s funeral.

In school, it is recess time. Opal stays inside, she says she is going to read her book. Elizabeth is surprised, she usually likes to skip rope. Opal is afraid because of what happened the day before, Elizabeth tries to reassure that everything is ok.

Lucas tells Elizabeth that he sent a few chapters of what she wrote, she feels betrayed by his actions. He says that his mother is ready to send them to a publisher, she is upset that he didn’t ask her permission first.

Fiona arrives at the train station and Nathan is there, he tells her he can’t talk, it’s police business. A man who got off the train with her looks suspicious when he finds out that Nathan is a constable, he tries to run, but Nathan catches him.

Elizabeth tells Rosemary what Lucas did, in sending the chapters to his mother, she is now left wondering how she can trust him. The irony is, Nathan is wondering how much he can trust her.

Fiona sits down for lunch, Clara tells her she will get her something, then they can catch up.

At dinner, Rosemary tells Lee that she wants to help him with his sister. She asks him what is stopping him from finding her, he says maybe she doesn’t want to hear from him. She says there is only one way to find out. Lee makes a call, he finds out that his sister moved away after his father died and someone is living in the house now. He remembers a suitor of hers, Jake, but he can’t remember his last name.

Nathan has his criminal in jail, who seems in good spirits. Jesse is in the office, Lee walks in and he asks if he should be home resting. Lee tells him he just needs a few days and he will be back. Jesse says that when he saw him lying on the ground, anyway, he is sorry that he got hurt looking for him. Lee tells Jesse it is not his fault.

Lee goes to find Rosemary, he remembers his sister’s suiter’s family name, Tom. Fiona is there, she says she will see if there is a listing for him.

Opal still wants to sit in class, Elizabeth asks her what exactly she is afraid of. Then she says facing her fears is actually a good thing, maybe they can go outside together, Elizabeth takes Opal’s hand.

Elizabeth meets up with Luca, she tells him just to ask her next time. Then, he tells her that Henry is refusing to show him the books, and the longer he does that, the more he suspects that he is hiding something.

Elizabeth goes to see Henry, he says he made a mess of things, that is the long and short of things. He hasn’t taken a salary in quite some time and now he cannot afford to pay for the men. She tells him that he doesn’t have to face this alone and doesn’t understand why he is facing this alone. He says that ever since he discovered oil, people are proud of him, what will they think. She tells him that he has friends, he has Lucas, and he can help him clean it up.

Nathan goes to see Bill and tells him about his prisoner. They start talking about the windstorm, and how Elizabeth took a personal risk in trying to save one of her students. Bill tells him that she is a strong woman and can take care of herself.

Bill goes to see Lucas and asks him if Henry has shown him the books, he says no, not yet.

Henry is standing over the coal stove with one of the record books.

Rosemary and Elizabeth are together, she asks her about her book. Elizabeth tells her that she doesn’t like rejection and doesn’t know what she will do.

Fiona has the number for Lee to call his sister. Mr. Nichols calls Fiona, she looks upset and says she does like her job.

Lee calls Fiona and asks her to place the call. Susanna answers the phone, he tells her it is Lee, she hangs upon him.

Florence is upset, she finds out that Fiona is leaving, she has been transferred. She doesn’t want to leave, but she has no choice.

Rosemary finds Lee outside kicking a ball against the side of the house. She tells him he tried, that is all he can do, and it is her turn to make the next move. He says it is too late, she says it is not and if his sister thinks it is too late, that is her loss.

Henry gives Luca the books, he tells him there are nine more. Luca sits down right away to take a look. Elizabeth walks in and finds him with the books, she tells him that she can come back. But he asks her to stay. She says she has come to say yes, to publish the book. Lee calls his sister again, he tells her that he has to come to see her, they need to talk. She tells him that she has to think about it.

There is a knock at Elizabeth’s door, it is Nathan and it is late. She asks him inside. He says he feels like that he owes her an apology he overreacted a few days ago. She says she doesn’t want to hurt him and she understands how things may have looked in his perspective. She says she followed her instincts, she does that with everything. He says he wants her to be safe because she matters to him. He says goodnight, and he leaves.
