In tonight’s WCTH episode, Bill was brought in to resolve the conflict between Lee and Lucas. The whole town asked him to intervene. The two men were great friends and its sad that they are arguing about a park. Lucas wanted to turn the park into a shared use.

Which meant sharing it with a cow pasture. Lee hates that idea. He thought being around the animals would ruin any if not all picnics and it would instead drive people away from the park. The two men were both very passionate about this subject. Its why they refused to see the other side. It also meant that Bill won’t be resolving anything anytime soon.

There was also bigger fish to fry. Bill connected a rare coin to the Great Rocky Mountain Train Robbery of 1907. Several expensive coins were stolen in the robbery and it was suspected that the Garrison Gang was behind it. Now, Greg Garrison was considered in charge of the gang.

He hasn’t been seen in years nor has he ever shown up in Hope Valley. Bill and Rosemary suspected that he either was in disguise or someone else from the gang stopped by their little town and that’s how one of the precious coins showed up at their general store.

The two brought their news to Nathan. He can officially open an investigation as a Mountie. He just couldn’t question anyone or else the whole town would find out and the person they’re looking for will go underground. There aren’t any secrets in Hope Valley.

Take Allie’s birthday dance party. She was a teenager now. She wanted to celebrate an important birthday and she didn’t want her father involved or little kids. She planned on throwing a secret dance party. She told her friends. They spoke a little loudly at the store and now everyone knows about it.

Lee even offered Allie the use of the saloon for her secret dance party. He mistakenly thought Nathan knew about it and so Lee bringing it up to him was how he found out about it. Nathan didn’t know that dance parties were a thing. He was a little traditional.

He didn’t want his daughter having a secret dance party with no adults. He later argued about it with Allie. They were going back and forth until Elizabeth showed up. Elizabeth loves a dance party. She agreed to teach the kids some of the new dances.

Elizabeth got Nathan to agree to the dance party with supervision. It wouldn’t be close supervision. They would be there and they agreed to stand in the back while the teens have fun. The party was a big deal to Allie. She invited Wyatt. She has a massive crush on him.

She was so busy giving him puppy eyes that she didn’t realize that a certain Mountie recruit has a soft spot for her. Oliver was invited to the party as well. The romantic entanglement might pose a problem in the future, but as long as it didn’t ruin Allie’s party, she wasn’t going to notice anything amiss.

Elizabeth didn’t know the latest dances when she agreed to teach the kids. She had to take lessons herself. Then she picked it up and she taught the kids.

She was a much better dancer than she gave herself credit for. She even helped Angela. Angela was worried about being the blind girl at the party.

She wanted to dance like everyone else. Her father showed her some moves. Elizabeth taught her the rest and now she was feeling a little bit more confident than she was before. It also didn’t hurt that she got the new Hellen Keller book thanks to Elizabeth. The book made her feel seen.

Angela’s father was still concerned about her. He didn’t want his daughter to feel different. Only he was learning that Angela has to find her own way in the world. Nathan learned that lesson too tonight. There was a movement from the adults to put a stop to the dance party.

Molly thought it was too scandalous. She’s seen the latest dances from adults and didn’t think children should do it. Allie had to speak up for herself at the town meeting that Molly called to end the party. Allie reminded everyone that they just wanted to have fun and become adults with friends and joy.

Sure, the adults demanded far more supervision. They ultimately agreed to stand in the back. They were going to let the teens have fun and even Nathan was on Allie’s side. He finally saw that his daughter wasn’t a little kid anymore. She was growing up whether he liked it or not.

Rosemary in the meantime was getting nowhere in her investigation of the gold coin. Molly was the one that accidentally used it and she has no knowledge of the coin. She wasn’t looking in her bag when she put coins on the counter to buy hazelnuts.

Hope Valley simply didn’t seem like any place where the Garrison Gang would show up. Funnily enough it was where a wandering calf would show up. Edie Martell was still staying at her uncle’s ranch and she accidentally left a gate open. Lucas saw her in distress. He agreed to help her.

They put aside their differences to find the calf and they were helping her when Edie lost her ring. She told him earlier that she was engaged. It wasn’t until she lost the ring that she admitted that she called off the engagement months ago. She just kept the ring to keep suitors at bay. And now she no longer cares about the ring or maintaining the pretense.

Hint, Hint Lucas!

Then there was the party. The party was great fun. There were lots of people that showed up. It wasn’t everything that Allie wanted it to be and it turns out that’s why Molly tried to stop the party. Molly remembers that age well. She invited a boy she liked to a party.

He didn’t show and she spent all night in tears. She tried to stop the party because she didn’t want the same thing to happen to Allie. Molly seems mean, but she was actually a nice lady and she got to see Allie recover from her own heartbreak thanks to Oliver.

Wyatt missed most of the party. It was Oliver that got everyone dancing. He kept Allie from feeling sad. He didn’t play mind games or gift Allie with a bunch of flowers he found right outside of the saloon. No, that was Wyatt. He finally showed up just to show he half-planned it and Allie was so happy to see him that she didn’t see the warning signs.

And the night ended with Molly dancing the night away with Jed. Jed confessed to her that he bought the hazelnuts. He’s the one that dropped the gold coin. She told him he had to tell Bill and he agreed to after their dance.

THE END!
