On tonights WCTH episode, Elizabeth’s book has been released in Hope Valley. She sits for a book signing. Both Nathan and Lucas arrive with Nathan making jokes. He asks her to make his book out to the one who got away. In the shop, some of the towns folk think some of the character may be based off of them.
Faith catches Nathan outside the shop. She doesn’t like that he is already up and moving around. He should be resting. Across town, Bill takes a gun from the new man town who is paying Hope Valley a visit. Bill knows him as trouble.
Nathan tries to work with his horse but the horse is acting feisty. Bill points out that the horse has been taking to May Sue well. At school, Elizabeth sees some of her students have a copy of her book. She reads them a passage.
Nathan visits May Sue to get her help. Their meeting doesn’t go well. He leaves without securing her help. Meanwhile, Rosemary gently tries to tell Lee she cannot publish his work. Henry visits Lucas at the saloon. Lucas is planning a surprise book party for Elizabeth. The two talk business and discuss the new stranger visiting the town for business reasons. The same man Bill knows of and doesn’t trust.
Lee comes back to the paper. Rosemary tells him she wants to publish his work. Elizabeth arrives. She vents after reading some hateful reviews of her book that has been sent to the paper. She was just writing about fictional characters.
May Sue tracks down Nathan and agrees to help him. Faith calls Carter but he is too busy to come to the phone. At the paper, Joseph puts in a new window for Rosemary and Lee. He puts it in backwards to spend more time with Cooper.
Lucas finds Elizabeth on his saloon balcony. She is brooding over the reviews. He gives her a letter from his mother and the pencil she used to edit Elizabeth’s book.
Everyone waits in the saloon while Elizabeth insists she and Lucas enjoy the stars from the balcony. She has no idea a party is waiting for her downstairs. Inside, Faith and Mary Sue discuss Elizabeth’s book. Nathan finally reveals to Elizabeth there is a party waiting. She laughs. She will act surprised. She pulls it off after coming through the front door. Rosemary can tell she knew.
At Yost’s, Nathan picks up a package. He sees Faith and asks about May Sue. He gets some looks. He tells the Yosts and Faith he is fine and isn’t the character in Elizabeth’s book. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Rosemary have tea. Elizabeth shares that she feels better after the party and that she wants surprised. Rosemary laughs. In town, Lucas tells Henry to read Elizabeth’s book. There is a character he might like.
Cooper finally tells Joseph what is going on. He is mad Angela is blind. He didn’t go blind from the measles. At Yost’s, Molly learns she isn’t the redhead in Elizabeth’s book while Lucas is trying to find out why the shady businessman Bill doesn’t like is in town.
Nathan makes plans to May Sue to help his horse. She shares she will go see the horse but would like to work alone. Faith comes in. After Nathan leaves, May Sue tells Faith there is nothing between her and Nathan.
Mike asks Bill to vacate the mayor’s office. Bill is shocked. Joseph tells his wife about Cooper and how he couldn’t tell him the truth. The doctor wouldn’t treat his sister. Across town, Rosemary gives Elizabeth a review that matters. Its a letter from a wife who also lost her husband. Elizabeth’s book made her feel hope again.
Lucas makes a mysterious call to a friend and tells them he needs to get rid of the shady businessman Wyman but he cannot do it alone.
