In tonight’s When Calls The Heart episode, Mike starts the town council meeting with a photo. Rosemary tries to get them to smile as they all look gloomy. They discuss replacing Carson. Later, in the rain, Mike holds a town meeting. May Sue will fill Carson’s spot. Mike also announces they will celebrate 5 holidays this week as part of Hope Valley Days. It will be a week of Halloween, Valentine’s Day, April fools, Thanksgiving, and more.
In class, Elizabeth discusses what Thanksgiving means to all of the students. She wants them to look more into what the holiday means. At the paper, Rosemary and Lee are dressed as Cleopatra and Caesar. They open the mail as Lee tries to eat the bowl of Halloween candy. She gives him one piece as they discuss the letter she has opened. They may be invited to join a group of other newspapers.
Faith visits Sue at the pharmacy. May has decorated for Valentine’s Day. Faith loves it. Faith shares that she wants an x-ray machine. Just then, Nathan rides by. The two go quiet.
A rude man walks into Bill’s office without knocking. He states his wife is in Hope Valley and he wants her arrested. Bill tells him to mind his manners. When he doesn’t, Bill knocks him out and then brings him to the jail in a wheelbarrow.
Lucas and Elizabeth walk together from the school. Later at the saloon, Lucas and Henry discuss how Fiona is having trouble brokering their oil day. They will have to go to San Francisco to help her.
Bill and Nathan talk about the man who shares he is May’s husband. Nathan seems angry to learn May has several warrants out for her arrest, one being spousal abandonment. Meanwhile, Ned asks May to become his permanent employee., She says yes.
Elizabeth runs into an old student at the cafe. She seems sad and upset. Elizabeth plans to get down to the bottom of it. Just before she leaves, Minnie tells Elizabeth that she plans to get a loan to purchase Abigail’s portion of the cafe. Minnie wants to keep it a secret.
Rosemary and Lee discuss how Lee may miss Mike and their friendship. Maybe he needs to talk to him. Back at the jail, May speaks with Bill and Nathan. She admits to she rode into town looking like a man. It was safer to travel that way. Nathan leaves angry. May asks to see her husband. Bill allows it.
Bill asks Faith to check him out. He needs a chest x-ray. He has wheezing. Bill doesn’t want to go. Molly asks him to go for her. He might, he tells her.
Nathan finds Elizabeth and asks her for a driving lesson. It is a bit last minute but she agrees to meet him by the saloon.
Allie comes looking for advice about Robert from Nathan. May is there. She gives Allie advice about standing up for herself if when she is afraid to. This advice seems to reconfirm something inside of May as she says it. Meanwhile, Robert asks Lucas for advice about girls.
Elizabeth attempts to give Nathan a driving lesson. She reads from a book. Nathan isn’t a fan of this textbook strategy. He asks her if maybe Lucas can teach him before sharing that maybe it’s good they never got together. She smirks speechless.
Bill is forced to release May’s husband. They found a marriage license she swears he forged. After he is released, he chases after May. She tells him she doesn’t want to talk to him. He lied about all the charges she is being accused of. He tells her he had to so he could find her.
Nathan appears to not want a driving license at all but advice about May. Lucas tells him to fight for her. Nathan gets out of the car and heads off. Meanwhile, Elizabeth meets with her old student. Her former student Anna doesn’t want to move with her mom. She wants to stay in Hope Valley. Elizabeth says she may be able to help. Anna is thrilled.
Lee learns that Joseph didn’t get the loan so he and Minnie could buy a share of the cafe. Lee calls his bank and tells them he will pull all of his business unless Joseph and Minnie got their loan. Later, Joseph and Minnie tell Lee and Rosemary the bank called. They made a mistake and they received their loan. Lee and Rosemary act surprised.
Ned hosts the first night of Hanukkah. The whole town is there. The children learn a lot from him. Off to the side, Elizabeth and Lucas discuss their possible future wedding. Faith tells Mike she is ready to put herself out there to get an x-ray for the clinic.
