In tonight’s When Calls The Heart episode, Elizabeth writes in her journal of all the exciting moments the town has shared since the start of hope Valley Days. Later in town, she sees the Yosts talking about something secretive. She learns Mei Sue is married and her husband Geoffrey is in town. She heads to see Lucas who confirms the news with her. She sees Nathan next. He doesn’t want to be the talk of the town. Just then Mei comes out of the pharmacy. Geoffrey is also in town and will not leave. All four of them make awkward eye contact.

Nathan confronts Mei. She tells him Geoffrey wanted to be with her but she said no. He forged their marriage license and told everyone who would listen they eloped. Mei escaped, coming to Hope Valley. He believes her but that won’t help. They need to find proof against Geoffrey.

Elizabeth starts class, by discussing Thanksgiving. They all plan to meet for a dinner in town. The class is excited. Meanwhile, Lee tries to talk to Mike who shuts him down. He has had enough of Lee and his articles. Lee goes back to the paper and vents to Rosemary. He feels bad.

Lucas helps some new townsfolk who are inquiring about help and schooling. He directs them to Elizabeth. Geoffrey accuses Nathan of not doing his job. He wants Mei arrested. Across town, Bill and the Cannfields toast to their cafe partnership. Bill starts coughing, excusing himself, and spitting up blood.

Nathan arrests Mei while Elizabeth meets with the ladies Lucas came across in town. One of the women is a school teacher. Faith visits Mei in school while Bill arrives at the infirmary. After Faith leaves, Nathan and Mei talk about how this all happened to her.

Lucas is having a lot of fun teaching grammar and tossing a baseball. Elizabeth arrives to see her class laughing and having fun. That night, the town gets together for their celebration of Hanukkah. Ned makes a speech about miracles. Across the way, Rosemary and Lee continue their celebration of Halloween.

Lee tries to talk to Mike again but Mike isn’t feeling forgiving. Nathan and Lucas talk outside the saloon. Nathan thanks him for his advice. Elizabeth comes to see them both. Nathan talks about love and giving it freely. They realize he is being a jokester, stealing the quote from the pharmacy window decorated with hearts and quotes,

Nathan returns to the jail. Bill has made himself comfortable in a cell after drinking cough syrup. Nathan gets a call. Things are getting worse for Mei. The mayor of Chicago wants her brought to his city,

Elizabeth and the Cannfields tell Elizabeth’s old student she can stay on at the cafe and rent a room upstairs Joseph has renovated. She hugs them both. She didn’t want to leave Hope Valley and now she can stay.

Rosemary compliments Lee on his piece about Mike that has been published in the paper. Meanwhile, Mike invites Faith to church. At the jail, Nathan releases Mei with Geoffrey present. They have proof he forged the marriage license and that he is also really married to a woman he left behind. Mei tells him to leave. She does not love him. He leaves. Mei hugs Nathan.

After church, the whole town heads over to the saloon. On their way, they all come upon a beach tall Christmas tree. It’s beautiful. They wonder who did it, asking one another. From a distance, Bill smiles while wishing them all April Fools.

That night at Thanksgiving dinner, Rosemary and Lee take family photos for all while people eat and drink. Mike thanks Lee for writing his piece.
