When Calls The Heart Season 11: Lucas Returns, Elizabeth Chooses

Hallmark delighted Hearties with news that When Calls The Heart (WCTH) will return for its eleventh season. But what does this month’s season 10 cliffhanger finale mean for Lucas, Elizabeth, and Nathan?

 When Calls The Heart Spoilers – What Happens To Lucas Bouchard?

The season 10 finale for When Calls The Heart sparked worries for Hearties after that cliffhanger ending. Lucas (Chris McNally) seemed shocked by an unknown person after his successful run for governor. But viewers only saw a car with headlights as Lucas exited his Capital City office, followed by his question, “What are you doing here?”

And the last part of that episode showed Bill (Jack Wagner) locating Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry). Clearly preparing to reveal something serious, Bill only shared, “It’s Lucas. I need you both now.” 

But that provided enough to get Hearties speculating about the possibility of an injury or even a kidnapping. However, showrunner and executive producer Lindsay Sturman offered reassurance via TV Insider. And she revealed that Lucas did not die (which some worst-case-scenario Hearties feared).

Season 11 of When Calls The Heart will include Lucas, promised Sturman. And she stated, “We can assure everyone that Lucas is back for Season 11. He’s a huge part of Hope Valley and always will be. But there’s definitely a cliffhanger and a few mysteries packed in there.”

However, the WCTH exec producer stopped before revealing exactly what happened to Lucas in that cliffhanger finale episode ending. “And it will all be revealed next season,” teased Sturman. “Lucas is a huge part of Season 11.”

However, while Lucas’ fate remains unknown, season 10 also wrapped without a clear ending to the saga of Elizabeth and Nathan’s relationship. But Sturman dropped some hints. And she revealed that the end of Elizabeth’s and Lucas’ engagement left both her and Nathan feeling “confused. And in a stew of emotion,” added Sturman.

When Calls The Heart Spoilers – What Does Henry Gowen’s Future Hold?

Meanwhile, Hearties continue to speculate on what the future holds for their favorite characters. For instance, some possible story lines for season 11 via Parade include who drove that mysterious car that approached Lucas. For example, could Governor Balfour (Mark Brandon) or Montague (Benjamin Wilkinson) have approached him?

And Hearties look forward to watching Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Lee (Kavan Smith) trying to balance their businesses with parenthood.

But the biggest question for season 11 focuses on Elizabeth. Could she change her mind about Lucas? Or will Elizabeth decide that her future should involve Nathan (Kevin McGarry)? And what about Henry (Martin Cummins)? Can he overcome his challenges?
