‘When Calls The Heart’, Season 13: Allie Evolves Into “Young Adulthood”

Good news, Hearties! When Calls the Heart (WCTH) Season 13 is officially in pre-production, with full production launching on July 1.

This has fans buzzing everywhere about what their favorite characters will be up to during this next new season, and CTS has some scoop about Allie Grant, played by young actress Jade Lily Miller.

Allie Grant Is Slated For A Transition

The show’s writers’ room is currently plugging out some stories for Season 13. Joy Gregory, WCTH’s new showrunner, was recently on The Official Hearties After Show, where she talked about what fans should expect from the new season. Here’s what she had to say about Allie:

“We’re excited to bring Allie into young adulthood. She’s (Jaeda Lily Miller) grown into such a talented actor who can handle anything we throw her way … “

Gregory also adds, “… her (Allie’s) bond with Jacob (Shoemay) on screen, who plays Oliver (Garrett), is really lovely and working so well. We’re excited to develop their friendship together.”

With that said, as Season 12 wrapped up, Allie joined her dad, Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry), along with Elizabeth Thorton (Erin Krakow) and little Jack Thornton (Hyland Goodrich) as they took a trip to Cape Fullerton to get the boy consistent diabetes treatment.

Gregory did state that the goal was to get the foursome back in Hope Valley; however, the reality is that Allie may be separated from Oliver for a little bit during Season 13.

A Fight for Independence

It’s always fun to speculate on what will happen in the new season, despite so many unknowns. As Allie navigates into young adulthood, does this mean she and Nathan could clash as she fights for her own independence? Here’s hoping that if this happens, things don’t get too ugly between the father-daughter duo!
