The show’s season 8 has arrived on the Hallmark Channel last February 21, with new episodes airing on Sundays. The show has been teasing on Elizabeth’s love triangle for many seasons and had promised the character will make up her mind this season.
However, “Hearties” up to this point has no clue as to the schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton’s (Erin Krakow) preference between the businessman Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) and noble Mountie Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry). Ultimately, the last episode will provide the last piece of information everybody wants to know.
Episode 12 will be released on May 9, titled “The Kiss.” The synopsis says, “Elizabeth finally realizes who she is supposed to be with; big changes are coming to Hope Valley; the town rallies together to say goodbye and good luck to one of its own.”
Making Peace with Moving On
In a recent live interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Deidhe Behar, Erin Krakow, alongside co-stars Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith, has teased the end of the love triangle between Elizabeth, Lucas, and Nathan.
Erin gave insights into Elizabeth’s longtime grief over late husband Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) that has buried her in wallowing anxiety, uncertainty, and pain. Erin pointed at Elizabeth still wearing her wedding ring: “But it’s coming! Spoiler alert!”
Elizabeth will finally take off her wedding ring as a sign of being set free from her past. She continued by revealing that Elizabeth has finally decided “to make peace with moving on.”
Pascale Hutton portraying Rosemary LeVeaux-Coulter was asked for her preference as Elizabeth’s best friend. The actress answered in the perspective of Rosemary that she’s team Elizabeth, but she’s satisfied with any of the two gentlemen. What’s more important to her is that Elizabeth is finally opening her heart to someone.
Pascale also teased that her character Rosemary will find a new passion: a new focus in life which she hopes will propel to season 9. “She is never shy to redefine herself and try something new and jump into an adventure of that,” she explained.
Mending Relationships
Erin also promised she will make amends with her relationship with her best friend, Rosemary. The two have shared such a close bond like sisters as Erin considers her as her real confidant whom she can be honest with including her love-triangle stress, “but things aren’t always perfect.“
“Even the healthiest relationships and friendships in life have rough patches. It’s good to see how those people overcome those and find their way back to each other,” Erin explained, pointing out the storyline has made the show “relatable.”
As Hallmark is known for: “This is Hope Valley. We strive for happy endings and happy relationships and friendships,” Erin teased.
