When Calls The Heart Spoilers: Jack Wagner Shares The Show’s Surprising Success Secret

Hallmark Channel When Calls The Heart Spoilers: Jack Wagner Shares The Show’s Surprising Success SecretWhen Calls The Heart spoilers and updates reveal Jack Wagner (Bill Avery) recently reflected on the triumph of his series, attributing much of its success to his on-screen romantic partners. He also highlighted the remarkable achievement of Hallmark’s longest-running series, revealing what he believes is the key to the enduring popularity of WCTH.

Jack Talked About Working With His Past Scene Partners

In a recent interview with Us Magazine, Jack Wagner reminisced about his time working alongside various scene partners, including his former fiancée, Heather Locklear.

He commended Heather for infusing their Melrose Place scenes with an unmistakable energy; additionally, he shared his thoughts on the secret behind the lasting appeal of When Calls the Heart.

Wagner emphasized the importance of Erin Krakow, with whom he has shared numerous scenes, even though they have never played romantic roles.

“I genuinely believe the show’s success is rooted in Erin Krakow, our leading lady,” he remarked. “I’ve always held this belief about every project I’ve been involved in, whether it was Heather on Melrose or Katherine Kelly Lang on Bold and the Beautiful.”

Erin Carried The Series When Two Major Departures Took Place

This acknowledgment of Erin Krakow highlights her crucial role in the show’s achievements; Jack Wagner didn’t mention that Erin Krakow has had to shoulder the series’ weight following two significant exits.

The first major blow came when Daniel Lissing (Jack Thornton) departed after Season 5, a moment that sent shockwaves through the fanbase.

In a post-season interview, Dan, Erin, and Lori Loughlin (Abigail Stanton) discussed the shocking decision to kill off Jack Thornton.

Brian Bird made it clear that recasting was off the table; Daniel’s choice to leave was respected, and they allowed him to move on. This decision paved the way for Elizabeth to embark on new adventures and explore love once more.

The College Admissions Scandal And Lori Loughlin’s Exit

The sixth season of When Calls The Heart marked a significant shift, as it was the first without Daniel Lissing. In this new chapter, Lori Loughlin and Erin Krakow took center stage, with Lori being the most recognizable face when the series first premiered.

This transition posed a challenge, as devoted fans, known as Hearties, were still reeling from the emotional journey of Jack and Elizabeth over the first five seasons.

Just as the new season began to unfold, the College Admissions Scandal erupted, leading the network  to swiftly remove all of Lori’s appearances from the remaining episodes. Consequently, Erin Krakow found herself shouldering the weight of the show alone.

Erin Has Carried The Show Ever Since

Erin has captured the spotlight for six more seasons, supported by an incredible cast including Pascale Hutton (Rosemary Coulter), Kavan Smith (Leland Coulter), Kevin McGarry (Nathan Grant), and Chris McNally (Lucas Bouchard).

The show’s future appeared uncertain with these changes, yet they navigated through every challenge. Fingers crossed that the network  decides to bring the series back for a 13th season.

Hearties, do you believe that Erin Krakow holds the key to the show’s success—do you side with Jack Wagner on this?
