So, the townspeople try to get back to normal as best as they can, and that includes Lucas. And of course, the rest of the townsfolk as well.

At this juncture, our collective sentiment is that Lucas is on a personal journey that he must navigate, and considering the challenges he has faced, that is perfectly understandable.

While we certainly value the friendship that he shares with Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), we can’t help but speculate that this situation still weighs heavily on his mind in some capacity.

Lucas May Be Going Through A Time Of Self-Doubt And Unresolved Issues

Despite the many positive aspects of his life, it seems that Lucas may be wrestling with some degree of self-doubt or unresolved issues that he is striving to address.

Although mental health was not a topic of conversation during the era in which this series takes place, we believe it remains a significant issue nonetheless. Mental health and the notion of psychology and psychiatry were in their infancy, as noted in a previous episode.

That is when Lee Coulter (Kavan Smith) panicked Rosemary with his symptoms, which she was afraid were a heart attack. It turned out it was what we would call a “panic attack”, referred to by the doctor as a “panic neurosis”.
