When Calls The Heart Spoilers – Where Is Jamestown Movie Set?

WCTH spoilers reveal that the Jamestown Movie Set is located on a family farm. MacInnes Farms is located in Langley, which is approximately an hour south of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Recently, new showrunner John Tinker posted some tidbits on Instagram. One of them was what the movie set looks like when filming isn’t taking place. He mentioned how it looks like a ghost town when all the props are taken away.

“All the signage, the lamp posts, flowers, and other plants, every stick of furniture is gone, making Hope Valley look like a ghost town.”

When Calls The Heart Spoilers –  About MacInnes Farms

Jamestown Movie Set is located on the property of MacInnes Farms. Some parts of the property are still in operation by the family. They produce honey, hazelnuts, hops, barley, and have free-range chickens. There are also 40 acres of cottonwood trees.

Before the Hallmark Channel TV show was used on the property, the MacInnes family was also discussing what to do with the property. They were actually having conversations with those in Hollywood to turn part of the property into a movie set. The creators of Scary Movie 4 wanted to use a portion of the cottonwood forest for a parody project, The Village. After that, the movies kept coming, Melanie MacInnes explained to Langley Advance Times.

However, it is the crew that is actually responsible for turning that into the magic of Hope Valley that we see on the Hallmark Channel.

In 2013, production designer Brentan Harron spoke to The Huffington Post about how they create Hope Valley. At the time, 25 people hammered together row houses in just a few weeks. Instead of using sound stages for inside scenes, they constructed entire buildings complete with hardwood floors, oil lamps, and scuffed walls.

What do you think of the show using an actual family farm for filming? Does it surprise you that it’s all part of someone’s farm and not an actual town?
