The hospital has maintained confidentiality regarding the incident, and the responsible party for her fall remains unknown-nevertheless, her parents have indicated that they are pursuing a potential negligence case against them.

The tragedy occurred at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. Subsequently, her family initiated a GoFundMe campaign for Mamie, successfully raising the necessary funds before closing it down a few weeks later.

The message expressed gratitude towards the surgeons, prayers, and the Lord. Mamie, with both legs in air casts, was surrounded by her family and two medical staff members as she took her first steps.

Despite feeling unsure, she bravely held onto the wheeled walker and lifted herself up; with the support of the medical personnel, she managed to stand up, prompting cheers from the onlookers.

Mamie humorously remarked, “to standing,” before admitting that it felt quite strange-she described her condition as “wobbly.”

When the medical staff inquired if she could spread her feet apart, she playfully remarked that the air casts felt like “ski boots” and were quite stiff, yet she managed to do it.

Then, they directed her to transfer all her weight to her right side, with just a little on the left.
