As season 11 of When Calls the Heart reaches for its finale, there’s plenty of excitement ahead, including who shot Lucas Bouchard. As fans already know, WCTH has been renewed for season 12, with the cast and crew getting ready to film it and we are sure there are many great stories to be told.
Meanwhile, Jack Wagner was recently interviewed and he revealed several things he would like his character, Bill Avery, to do in the upcoming season.
What does Jack Wagner want for Bill Avery in When Calls the Heart season 12?
Jack Wagner, who plays Bill Avery in When Calls the Heart opened up to TV Insider about the last few episodes of When Calls the Heart season 11. However, the conversation quickly went to season 12. As Hearties known, Hallmark renewed the series for a twelfth season and production is set to start in early July 2024.
In most of season 11, Bill Avery was all about finding out who shot Lucas, except for one sweet scene where Bill gives his godson Little Jack, a pony and teaches him to ride.
With all of this, what does the WCTH star want for his character in season 12? His answer no doubt almost brought tears to his fans as he said he wants Bill to “have some romance again.” This would be natural after the latest season focused on the new romance with Elizabeth and Nathan, but there was also more to it.
Jack Wagner on what brings Hope Valley together again
Besides romance for Bill, Jack wants something more to happen in season 12. As his character loves to bring the Hope Valley community together, he said he thinks there has to be something that threatens the town again, adding, “I think that always pays off because it brings the community together.”
Wagner gave the example of season 10 and the water problem that brought the community together, but he offered no theories as to what would happen in season 12 to unite the community.
Jack Wagner and the unlikely pairing of Bill and Rosemary
Wagner went on to explain what he enjoyed in season 11: the unlikely pairing of Bill and Rosemary (Pascale Hutton). He said they became a good team, explaining, “It’s the yin and yang of how they both work and their personalities.” Moreover, he said it was great fun playing against her and that Bill and Rosemary ended up having many humorous moments, saying:
That’s what makes it the real team effort.
Jack added how pleased he was that Hearties enjoyed the unlikely pairing between Bill and Rosemary.
