Erin Krakow Shared Some Sneak Peeks About The New Season
July has kicked off perfectly for Hearties who have been anxiously awaiting the much-anticipated return of When Calls the Heart. Earlier this year, the Hallmark series was renewed for another season, yet a specific premiere date remains unannounced.
Although this might be disappointing, series star Erin Krakow (Elizabeth Thornton, formerly Thatcher) shared fantastic news with fans.
She took to social media on Wednesday, July 2, to announce the commencement of filming for When Calls the Heart Season 13.
There were some hints about Elizabeth and the group’s return to town after their trip to get little Jack Thornton (Hyland Goodrich) diabetes treatment.
Twelve New Episodes Being Filmed For Season Thirteen

In the Season 12 finale of When Calls the Heart, which aired on March 23, the show was renewed for Season 13, consisting of 12 new episodes that are currently being filmed.
In a video shared by Krakow, she is seen walking hand-in-hand with her co-stars Hyland Goodrich (Jack Thornton Jr.), Jaeda Lily Miller (Allie Grant), and Kevin McGarry (Nathan Grant).
The implication is that Little Jack’s diabetes treatment regimen was successful, although he’ll still be monitored and dosed with insulin.
“We felt a bit homesick,” the actress mentioned, including a winky face emoji. “When Calls the Heart is back in action, and we are filming Season 13!”

Georgie McGill Returns, Announced By Jack Wagner
With the stars mentioned earlier appearing in the latest photos from the show, Season 13 will definitely feature their return, along with a few other familiar faces. One of these stars is Melissa Gilbert, who had a guest role in a two-episode storyline in When Calls the Heart Season 12.
Recently, Jack Wagner (Bill Avery), confirmed that Gilbert will return as Inspector Georgie McGill, reminding fans of her character’s romantic past with Bill.
The Little House on the Prairie actress also talked about her return in the upcoming season. “When I go to Vancouver to the set and I walk in, and it’s this old town, I feel like there I am. It’s a strange and wonderful feeling, and I’m very excited to go back.”
