When Calls the Heart (WCTH) recently lost an important member of their family. Nathaniel “Nate” Pelletier, who was part of the series’ transportation department, caring for and driving the old-fashioned vehicles and wagons from the show, passed away on April 11. In addition, the 53-year-old appeared in a number of WCTH episodes as a taxi driver, now and again.
A service was held on May 2nd, and after this, those who worked with him on the Hallmark Channel’s hit shared stories about the memories and impact Pelletier made on them.
Martin Cummins Tribute
Actor Martin Cummins, who plays Henry Gowen in WCTH, honored Pelletier with a tribute on Instagram. Uploading a number of photos, Cummins provided a snapshot of the friendship they shared, along with WCTH’s Supervisor, Transportation Captain Gordon “Gord” Alyward.
Cummings caption read, “I just came back from a ride on the bike Gord and Nate put together for the girls and I. I’m taking shade in Mexico under the awning Nate helped me figure out in the woods near the old cabin.”
The actor added, “ I have spent more hours at work sitting in the blue room, in silence or in conversation with Gord and Nate than I have standing on tape with the camera rolling. Gord has always felt like a father figure to me, and Nate and I were his boys running around the town, hanging out in the woods and talking (expletive).”
He also provided these words of wisdom on the post, “Life is constantly changing. Things are never the same. The Valley will not be the same without Nathaniel Pelletier. He was a gentle soul and it was my honor to call him friend.”
Others Chime In
In addition to Cummins’ IG post, Mike Magnusson, WCTH production manager, also shared a tribute to Pelletier stating, “Nate was all heart, a true ‘Unicorn,’ smashing every 14-hour day with a wide smile & endless cheer for all.”
Magnusson added, “He ‘saw’ people, and was always there with a kind word. He leaves a void of spirit we will not be able to replace. Nate, you were one of a kind, and we loved you. You will be sorely missed, my friend.”
The show’s official IG account also honored Pelletier with Magnusson’s words and the caption, “We know many #Hearties also had the privilege of meeting Nate at the Hearties Family Reunion. He loved interacting with the fans, and he brought so much joy to the day.”
On behalf of everyone here, we offer our condolences to Nate Pelletier’s family, friends, loved ones, colleagues, and Hearties everywhere. Visit this site often for the news, updates, and spoilers in the land of television.
