When Calls the Heart fans already seem excited to see Daniel Dissing back on their screens. He appears in two roles, and fans will see Jack Thornton again. So, how will that work? When Hope Calls Features Daniel Lissing

When Calls the Heart fans grew very hopeful about seeing Jack Thorton return in the Christmas special on GAC Family TV. Well, at the time, it became very clear that he acts in a new role. Many fans hoped that finally, they might see Jack Thornton, (Daniel Lissing) again. Recall, he died in Season 5 of the Hallmark show. Fans never actually saw his body when he died in a landslide. As the seasons went by, hope started fading that he might miraculously return after surviving the incident. However, that never happened.

In the Chrtima special for When Hope Calls, Daniel Lissing acts as a National Parks ranger named Ryan Sparks. It all revolves around Madeline Baggett (Sara Canning) who works as an astronomer in the wilderness. Anyway, from the synopsis it seems he helps her out, they start becoming friendly, and possibly a romance blossoms. It’s not quite the same as seeing Jack Thronton though. However, fans cheered up a bit when they heard that Abigail Stanton (Lori Loughlin) makes a return. The latest news arrived this week, that fans will indeed see JackThorton in the Christmas special.

When Hope Calls Two Roles – Jack Thornton And Ryan Sparks

Hearties dying to see Jack Thorton again can celebrate as Daniel Lissing reprises his role. Unfortunately, not through the whole movie, but in a cameo scene. The news was reported via Etonline on Tuesday. The outlet posted up a photo of him standing in front of Abigail. It’s not clear how much fans will see of Jack. Notably, in the photo, his face is turned away from the camera. Perhaps Abigail recalls him from happier days gone by.

The When Hope Calls appearance will apparently feature Jack in a flashback cameo. The outlet speculated that as Abigail looks stunned, perhaps he appears to her “in a dream.” ET noted that last year, in February, Daniel Lissing said he was “open to reprising his WCTH character in flashbacks or cameos.” However, don’t expect a lot of this in the Christmas special. Apparently, he only appears in one cameo. So, probably, the hopes for a bigger crossover progresses no further. Fans really hoped that Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) might somehow run into him again.

The Backstory

Fans new to When Hope Calls and When Calls the Heart might not know the full story about Jack Thorton. In the Hallmark show, Elizabeth found her special love, married him, and expected a baby. Then he died. Utterly distraught fans mourned him as though a real live loved one had passed away. To this day, the sadness lingers on in the Hallmark show.
