‘When Hope Calls’ Season 1, Episode 3, ‘The Past……’ recap gave Hopefuls more clues about the resentment Tess Stewart (Wendy Crewson) holds on to from the past toward and Lillian Walsh (Morgan Kohan) and the young woman’s adoptive parents.

Lillian discovers an old photo in the attic of the orphanage. In the black and white photograph Chuck Stewart (Greg Hovanessian), his father, Lillian, and Tess all appear happy.

‘When Calls the Hope’ season one, episode three recap reveals that the Stewarts and the Walshes were once very close and very happy. Later we discover that a bridge collapsed many, many years ago. Tess’s husband Matthew was on the bridge when it collapsed and Lillian’s father was somehow implicated.

Gabriel Kinslow (RJ Hatanaka) went to Tess’s ranch to question ranch foreman Daniel Olson (Drew Nelson) only to discover that he skipped town in the middle of the night. Gabriel found Daniel in the woods outside town with an unknown branding iron.

Gabriel took the brand to Tess and Ken Newsome (Michael Copeman) and proved Daniel was using the brand to change theirs and steal cattle from both ranches.

Money is tight at the orphanage. Grace Bennett (Jocely Hudon) convinced Ronnie Stewart (Neil Crone) to give her a job waitressing at the hotel to earn money to buy clothes and shoes for the children in her care at the orphanage.

‘WHC’ Season one, episode four that another couple might be coming together. ‘When Hope Calls’ episode three gave Hopefuls a tiny clue that Joe Moody (Jefferson Brown) and Maggie Parsons (Hanneke Talbot) may be interested in each other.

As Hopefuls know, the grocer stopped by the infirmary and discovered Lillian had used her organizational skills there, just as she did in the general store. Joe and the nurse had a brief moment, a look pass between them, as Maggie checked out a possible injury to Joe’s shoulder.

‘When Hope Calls’ Season 1, episode 4 spoilers tease that Gabriel will try to help Lillian find a family member of the children living at the orphanage. Another Mountie will discourage Lillian, but she has the determination to find this person. Remember, it’s not the first time she’s set out to accomplish the impossible.
