When Hope Calls Season 2 Premiere Date Announced!

When Hope Calls fans will be excited to know that the premiere date for When Hope Calls has been announced! The sequel series to When Calls The Heart Will begin filming this month for a premiere of January 2025 on the Great American Family Network, then it will stream to Pureflix.

This series star Cindy Busby (who also starred in The Crown Prince of Christmas.) as “Nora”, and Christopher Russel (who was in “A Dash of Christmas”) as “Constable Mountie Michael”, Wendy Crewson (Frank Drake Mysteries) as “Tess Stewart”, Nick Bateman (“A Christmas Miracle with Daisy) as “Wyatt”, Morgan Kohan (“Sullivan’s Crossing”) as “Lillian Walsh”, Hannake Talbot (Star Trek) as “Maggie Parsons”,and finally Ryan James “RJ” Hatakana (from “Criminal Minds” as “Mountie Gabriel”.

Spoilers for When Hope Calls: A brief Rundown

When Hope Calls is a spin-off of the book series When Calls The Heart by Janette Oke, which follows the sisters Lillian Walsh (Kohan) and Grace Bennett (Jocelyn Hudson) in 1916 to the town of Brookfield.

When Hope Calls is set at the town orphanage and follow their journeys and struggles while they create a community filled with both hope and faith in a frontier town that is on the cusp of change, all the while trying to manage the care of young, orphaned children.

The first season of “When Hope Calls” had 10 episodes and then in 2021 there was a 2 hour long Christmas movie where Lori Laughlin reprised her role from When Calls The Heart as Abigail Stanton.

So far, there looks to be eight episodes in season 2, there is some nod in the direction of the romance between “Mountie Gabriel” and “Lillian” in the opening but there are also new characters that are going to be integral to the orphanage, children, the ranch lands, and to the community at large, one of which is “Mountie Michael” (Russel).

One has to wonder what his story will be once he sets foot in Brookfield. Could there possibly be a new romantic interest for this new guy or is he one of those permanent bachelor types? Of course there will be speculation by townsfolk, but what about the fans? What do you think?

Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media said of the series, “We were fortunate enough to understand that Janette Oke’s faith-filled characters had such rich origins that building entertainment universes from this world would present themselves over and over.” Clearly, they know when they have a good thing and that bodes well for fans of both beloved series.

When Hope Calls is executive produced by Brad Krevoy, Cara Russell, Lorenzo Nardini and Amy Krell. It is directed by Bradley Walsh the the original Showrunner and writer, Alfonso Moreno.
