When Will Jesse Metcalfe’s Hallmark Martha’s Vineyard Mystery Start Filming?

It was a true shock for fans when Jesse Metcalfe left Chesapeake Shores this spring. In the meantime, they are hoping he will star in a new Christmas movie. Whether he will or not, Jesse’s fans are looking forward to his appearance in a new Martha’s Vineyard Mystery. However, when is that likely to happen? Read on to find out all we know so far.

Jesse Metcalfe And Hallmark’s Martha’s Vineyard Mystery

Shortly after Jesse Metcalfe’s last episode of Chesapeake Shores aired on the Hallmark Channel, he spoke with ET about his next steps. One of the big questions of the day was whether he will continue working with the Hallmark Channel. This particularly related to whether he would star in the next Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries movie.

Jesse said he absolutely loves doing the Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries movies. He said they are great and the source material was incredible. Metcalfe said they actually have to dial back the material from the books. He said the Philip R. Craig books are a “really fun read,” but he also loves executive producing on those as he enjoys being a part of every aspect of producing a show.

What’s Happening With Hallmark Channel’s News Martha Vineyard Mysteries?

Jesse last starred in the movie Poisoned in Paradise: A Martha Vineyard Mystery earlier this year. However, when he was asked when the next movie would be, he says he doesn’t know. According to Metcalfe, things are changing under the new regime. The way he put is that a lot of things have changed over at Hallmark recently, leaving everyone in a “bit of a holding pattern.” They are all basically waiting to see in which direction they will go. Hallmark also has to decide which TV shows and movies they will continue to support and which will end up on the “chopping block.”

Will Hallmark Implement Some Changes

It looks like this also affects Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Jesse and his fans alike are wondering when the network will decide on the various mystery series, but no one seems to have an answer to that question. Recently, Hallmark has gone through a lot of changes. No one seems to know if they are evaluating each of the Signature Mystery franchises, or if they plan on making major changes.

In the meantime, fans can keep up with Jesse Metcalfe on his Instagram account. Here, he often shares videos of him singing and playing guitar. Recently he posted a video of himself singing a classic Pink Floyd song, Wish You Were Here. Jesse captioned his post, “I like sad songs.” His followers were clearly impressed!
