Christmas is coming on the Hallmark Channel and When Calls the Heart fans are longing for a Christmas movie. However, this could be replaced by a When Hope Calls Christmas special instead. How will Hearties react if the Hallmark Channel does this switch?

Recently, Twitter user Ho! Ho! Ho! Holiday Viewing! posted a surprising revelation. The post hints at two new products for Hideaway Pictures in North Bay. The titles mentioned are Jingle Bell Princess and When Hope Calls Christmas Special. While the post notes there are no definite dates as yet, they wrote that When Calls the Heart’s spinoff could be taking its holiday spot.

The tweet means that production is starting on a When Hope Calls Christmas Special. However, there have so far been no announcements or any details released. In fact, it isn’t even sure if this will air in 2021.
However, at present Hallmark has a selection of holiday movies starting production and they are set to air before the holidays, so the odds do seem good.

Hallmark  Channel News – Brian Bird Hinted At When Hope Calls ‘solution’

While Hearties have never received a hint that the spinoff could return, Brian Bird did hint at a solution to When Hope Calls. The co-creator and executive producer of When Calls the Heart responded to a fans tweet about season 2 of When Hope Calls. His simple message was, “Stay tuned for news. We’re working on a plan.”

Admittedly, Bird didn’t give any clues as to how they are going to remedy the situation. However, a Christmas movie didn’t come into anyone’s heads. Meanwhile, if there is a When Hope Calls Christmas film, this would be the perfect solution.

Hallmark  Channel News – Season 9 Of When Calls The Heart

In other news, season 9 of When Calls the Heart is set to have 12 episodes, just like with season 8. This could be why WCTH had no 2020 Christmas special. What with COVID-19 restrictions and the need to film mostly outside, along with filming additional episodes, this wouldn’t leave much time for the annual Christmas film.

While Hearties will no doubt be disappointed if there is no When Calls the Heart Christmas special, surely replacing this with a When Hope Calls holiday special would be a happy replacement?
