Beyond the Gates Karla Mosley Talks Playing Scorned Dani Dupree & Bringing On The Drama

The countdown is on for soap fans everywhere, as there’s only a mere two weeks until Beyond the Gates (BTG) makes soapy history as the first daytime drama to debut in over 25 years!

Actress Karla Mosley plays a pivotal role in the new show, stepping into the shoes of angry, jilted, and bitter ex-wife, Dani Dupree.

From the looks of the extended promo trailer, the character is about to unleash revenge on her ex-husband Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett), and his mistress/new fiancé, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) for crossing her; however, Bill’s desk will bear the brunt of her anger (with a golf club) before he and his new lover do.

Soaps.com recently caught up with Mosley to discuss Dani and whether “she’s the villain” in this story.

Karla Mosley Notes How Scary It Is To Play Dani Dupree

Mosley tells Soaps.com that in “real life”, she’s a rule-follower and polite, so to, “… hit things with golf clubs and be really mean to people … sometimes I read the scripts, and they give me anxiety, but then when I do them, it feels so good.”

Still, while Mosley’s character, Dani Dupree, will definitely bring the drama, will she be the villain in this soap?

Mosley’s ‘Tongue-and-Cheek’ Social Media Post

Mosley recently hopped on Instagram and posted a video lip-syncing to RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ Scarlet Envy.

It’s a popular clip that has trended in the past and watching Mosley in her dressing room question whether she’s the drama or the villain, is hilarious.

Especially since the BTG promo clip of Dani smashing her ex-husband’s desk with a golf club is shown after the fact.

Still, whether Dani is the girl everyone will be rooting for, or the character fans will love to hate, viewers will have to check out the soap when it debuts later this month to decide for themselves!

Mark your calendar for Monday, February 24th 2 p.m. ET, as Beyond the Gate’s very first episode will air on CBS!
