Is GH Alum Kelly Monaco Joining Beyond The Gates? Rumors Swirl

Beyond The Gates, CBS new soap which debuts Monday, February 24, could be the new home for former General Hospital star, Kelly Monaco (ex Sam McCall, GH).

Rumors have been swirling that Kelly was joining another soap and Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos, GH) hinted that Kelly had a lot on her plate. Could this be what Maurice is referring to?

Kelly Monaco Spend 25 years At ABC

Kelly started with ABC on Port Charles in 1999 and moved on to General Hospital in 2003. Kelly was there for 21 years before she was unceremoniously let go and her character was killed off.

Ever since then rumors have been swirling that she had joined a new soap. However, the rumors have covered all four remaining soaps leaving the question of where will she be?

So far Kelly hasn’t shown up on another show, so with Beyond The Gates ready to premiere, fans are waiting with baited breath to see if Kelly will show up there.

Soap Opera Network noted months ago that rumors suggested that Kelly was joining Days of Our Lives. Monaco has been silent on social media with the exception of a few comments to fans.

Some Fans Have Suggested Other Soaps

Other fans had wanted Monaco to join Peackock’s Days Of Our Lives. However, a show rep was able to shoot that rumor down. Currently there is no confirmation or denial that she is joining Beyond The Gates either.

However, it was announced that a couple of other popular actors were joining. Since Kelly wasn’t mentioned, it doesn’t seem likely that she is joining at this time.

Some notable actors who have joined Beyond The Gates are Tamara Tunie of As the World Turns, Jon Lindstrom and Cady McClain, who have appeared on several soaps each as well.

Either way, Kelly’s fans still want to see her join another soap so they can see their favorite in action again. Will Kelly show up on on of the soaps still?

Could Sam McCall Return To General Hospital

Some General Hospital fans are very upset that Kelly was fired from the show and want her back on the show. Sam was a very important character and should have never been killed off.

Sam has children that need their mother, especially now that Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) has moved Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) away from the Quartermaines.

Fans on Instagram offered their opinions on a good fit for Kelly Monaco. Here are some of their comments:

• · “I hope she gets a new role soon. I think she would be great on The Bold and The Beautiful, Young & The Restless, The Gates, or a Prime time drama.”
•  “I hope Kelly goes to [Young & The Restless]. It would be great to see her working with Jason Thompson.”
• “Maybe Y&R, but they have made a lot of their cast reoccurring, so I am not sure they are hiring.”
• “We want her back @ GH, not another soap. Bring her home.”
• “Bring Kelly back to GH. We’re she belongs. She shouldn’t have been fired by F.V. in the first place. He is a terrible producer.”

Wherever Kelly ends up next, she can be sure that her fans will follow.
