According to Futon Critic, Engaged by Christmas tells the story of a woman worried that the holidays are coming fast and she needs to have the perfect holiday season. However, her boyfriend dumps her and she writes to the advice column, Dear Adora, whose advice has backfired on her. She wants to talk to Adora to tell her how she let her down. Moreover, Adora’s advice was the worst ever and now her life is a mess.

However, the story has a surprising twist, as when Zoe arrives to confront Adora, she meets Adam. It turns out he has a big secret – he is Adora. Naturally, Zoe is furious but realizes that Adam can help her. She promises to keep his secret if he agrees to accompany her to some Christmas-themed events.

Soon, Zoe and Adam are decorating for the holidays, while enjoying a cornucopia of festivities that bring joy to the season. Zoe’s life is getting better and it turns out Adam is fun to be with. She finds she no longer misses her ex-boyfriend and even realizes that he was far from perfect. Maybe Adora’s advice was right. However, can she admit this to Adam?
