According to the Futon Critic, Grace Hill (Keshia Knight Pulliam) and Anthony Brown (Brad James) could not be more different. Despite the fact that Grace and Anthony attended college to study architecture together, their lives took them on totally separate paths. However, when they are both hired to work together on the home of Loretta Brown (Patti LaBelle), a New Orleans praline icon the pair finds themselves cooperating at Christmas. In fact, they find themselves butting heads over more than architecture.

When Anthony and his family find out that Grace will be celebrating Christmas alone, they invite her to take part in their traditions and celebrations. While she is fiercely independent, Grace starts to understand the importance of family and community. For his part, modern Anthony learns to embrace tradition and the magic of Christmas.

However, when Grace gets offered a new job far away from New Orleans, she will have to decide if she will leave or follow her heart. Meanwhile, Marcel Lirette (Tim Reid), a handsome, retired friend who moves back to New Orleans after years away, catches Loretta’s eye.
