After 10 seasons of Married At First Sight, 9 couples are still married, and 4 have started families. Shawnice & Jephte from season 6. They made it through some tough moments, but they have been married for three years now and their daughter is almost two. And now, we are stuck in the house, self-quarantining. Jephte is a teacher, and now he is a teacher at home.
Shawnice was working full-time in the hospital as a wig fitter, she also opened up her own salon, but now, she is a full-time stay at home mom. They have bought a house, but they have her mom, step-dad, and two of her sisters living upstairs. Day 24 of quarantine, Shawnice is trying to cook and clean, and chasing after Laura. She admits that she is drinking too much wine since they have been home. She tells Jephte that she is losing her mind.
Anthony & Ashley from season 5 with Mila. They are spending a lot of time as a family, doing everything they can to live in their daughter’s world. To entertain themselves, they have been working on a puzzle, they cannot connect one corner and can’t find the piece. Their daughter likes to put things in the washing machine when she is bored, Anthony finds his puzzle piece, unreal. The crisis is diverted until Mila grabs the puzzle box and runs off with it.
Jamie & Doug from season 1. Ultimately the experts were right, because they fell in love and had a baby girl who is 2 ½, and they have a little boy on the way. They lost their first son at seventeen weeks, and there were a few other miscarriages. Jamie tells Doug that hospital birth is not going to be the safest solution for this baby. COVID 19 is in the hospital and if she catches it, she won’t be able to hold the baby, breastfeed the baby for two weeks. There are other options, home birth.
Doug says it is not safe, who would come to their house. She says a midwife, but what if there were complications, she would have to go to the hospital anyway, and would she make it there on time. He is trying to keep an open mind, but it is life and death. He doesn’t know what the safest option is. Jamie is worried if the baby catches COVID 19, gets stuck on a ventilator after they have had so many losses. Doug says he never thought he would have to be a part of a decision like this, it makes him nervous and terrified.
Keith & Kristine from season 9. Keith is getting ready for work, he has a mask on, he works at a clinic and runs supplies to the front-line workers. Kristine works in real estate and it is all online now and really quiet. Keith says it is kind of rough, one co-worker has COVID 19 and is home for two weeks. Kristine doesn’t want him to go to work, what if he brings it home. Keith says he has to what he has to do. He has a change of clothes and three masks.
Elizabeth aka Beth & Jamie from season 9. They had a rough start to their marriage, they moved from San Francisco, California to Charlotte, North Carolina so Jamie could advance his career in technology. They live in a small one-bedroom apartment with their fur babies, and it is really starting to get smaller, and smaller. Beth asks Jamie if he likes her cooking. Beth says she needs to have space. He loves it, the location is great and the fur babies are happy. He jokes to her that they can renew the lease right now, she jokes that she is going to poison his food.
Deonna & Greg from season 9. Greg was really patient with Deonna from the beginning, she had a lot of walls up. Along with Deonna being an Operations Manager, and Greg being a business owner, they have started a t-shirt line, they are business partners. Greg has adopted to Deonna’s dog, and she knows he will be a good dad. Deonna admits that she is getting baby fever since they are quarantined. Deonna has been bothering Greg with the baby fever and e will do just about anything to get her off the topic.
Danielle & Bobby from season 8. Life has been pretty good, they have a daughter named Olivia who is a year old. Danielle wasn’t thinking that she would be a stay at home, but now she is loving it. Bobby is not traveling for work right now so they are spending a lot of time together. It’s day 25, or Bobby thinks so, he has lost track.
Stephanie & AJ from season 8. They are used to traveling all around the world, but now they travel all around the apartment. Thanks to the pandemic, AJ is out of work as owner of a Head Hunter agency. Stephanie is still working as a financial consultant and took over his office in the apartment. AJ is very nervous about his not working. AJ is relying on Stephanie to bring home the money.
Austin & Jessica from season 10. When they first got married, she was worried about his traveling for work, now she is the one working as a nurse and often gone, and he is home waiting for her. She tells him that her boss told her that next week they are opening a COVID 19 unit, and she would be the director. There are pros and cons, she is excited to be a director, but the cons are the pandemic. Austin is worried for her, but there is nothing he can do, he can’t protect her. She tells him that they have plenty of protective equipment. This is her job, what she signed up to do, and she is going to do it. She appreciates Austin’s concern.
Deonna and Greg, Beth and Jamie are in a zoom chat together, Beth asks Deonna if she is pregnant, she says no, Greg is not ready yet.
Jamie was put in touch with a mid-wife that came highly recommended, but Doug is still against it. The mid-wife tells Jamie that fear is not the best motivator for having a baby at home. Doug is still skeptical, not as much as he was yesterday or the day before.
Kristine & Keith are at the market to grab a few essentials. They both have masks and gloves on.
It’s Shawnice’s birthday, and since they are stuck inside, he is going to give her a pedicure for her birthday. He set up a pedicure station, with rose petals and wine. She tries to put her feet in it, but the water is boiling. Once it cools down, she tells Jephte that it is better than any salon.
Doug tells Jamie that he is thinking about the home birth, he is not 100% opposed to it. She says she just has this feeling that the hospital is not the safest thing for them right now. He tells her that he is always there for her, and it will be their decision. Five hours later, Jamie just woke up because she was having mild contractions and they are coming more frequently. Jamie goes into the bathtub to calm herself.
