A couple’s retreat sparked great drama on Lifetime’s ‘Married At First Sight’. With Decision Day nearing, viewers are wondering how many couples will survive and reaffirm their commitments?

Four duos remained following Mindy Shiben and Zack Justice’s recent split. The most recent episode of MAFS had Brandon Reid deciding to leave the retreat after he and Taylor Dunklin had a series of verbal disputes that centered on her having unexpectedly stayed out all night with a group of friends.

Like Taylor and Brandon, Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman engaged in verbal skirmishes. In short, Katie felt that Derek doesn’t respect her. Meka Jones believes that she’s doing all the work in her relationship with Michael Watson, who was still grieving the loss of his uncle.

Meanwhile, Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd continue to exhibit the sweetest relationship chemistry. But their pairing does face an important hurdle that must be confronted.

Jessica Studer And Austin Hurd – Work Schedule Must Be Addressed

This couple appears to project the greatest potential for a lasting marriage. Jessica has openly raised the issue of love, with Austin hesitating on using that specific word.

The greatest conflict, if it can be termed that, involves Austin not having fully detailed his anticipated work schedule. Jessica was uncomfortable in realizing that her husband would be away from home for up to ten consecutive days during a month. Whether Austin would be able to adjust his work schedule or be willing to change jobs so he could be with his wife full-time remains to be seen.


Taylor Dunklin And Brandon Reid – Leaving Wife And Housemates

This pairing was a long way from the basketball court during this episode. It appeared as though Taylor and Brandon were getting closer. But the playfulness viewers recently saw on the basketball court dissolved as both parties had a confrontation.

After sitting on Brandon’s lap on the deck after dinner, Taylor was quickly questioned about the time she spent with friends at a hotel. She explained her actions but also became upset with Brandon, which led to her heading inside the house the couples were sharing.

Brandon asked for the cameras to be turned off, later removed his microphone, and had serious discussions with members of the production staff inside the house. He left the retreat the next day and later texting Taylor, telling her that she was on her own.

Katie Conrad And Derek Sherman – Sparking A Range Of Emotions

Derek and some of the other house members began eating tacos and having a few drinks when the trouble began with his wife. Katie was bothered that Derek was at ease with the other ladies in the house, but didn’t treat her the same way. She actually walked out twice during dinner, feeling upended by Derek’s behavior.

To their credit, both people spent the night together, talked things out in the morning, and then enjoyed themselves riding in a golf cart and jointly paddling a boat. Both people acknowledged that they grow closer after verbal fights and seemed to be genuinely deepening their bond.

Meka And Michael – Feelings Must Be Expressed Consistently

Losing a loved one impacts each person differently. Michael continues to deal with his uncle’s passing. But that proved to be an issue of divisiveness with Meka, who felt he wasn’t being honest again.

Michael’s absence at the retreat on Saturday was complicated when he and Brandon left the retreat together. Michael planned the departure and said that he was sorry he wasn’t able to return for the excursion that Meka ended up enjoying with Taylor.

While Michael and Meka revisited similar topics of strife that they had in recent episodes, both people continue to express a desire to make things work.
