The finale of Lifetime’s popular series ‘Married At First Sight’ will premiere on Wednesday, April 22. The Decision Day episode revealed two of the five couples that were married decided to stay together, while the three other pairings parted for varied reasons.

MAFS’ Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd, Taylor Dunklin, Katie Conrad, and Derek Sherman, Meka Jones, and Michael Watson, along with Mindy Shiben and Zack Justice are featured in the teaser to this episode, but Brandon Reid isn’t. The show was recorded five months after final decisions were made.

Reunion show host Kevin Frazier offers a very intriguing point. Two people, from different couples, entertained the idea of being together during the series. And with that, this real life-based drama unfolds.

Jessica And Austin – Love Retained, Or Lost?

Jessica seemed to believe that Austin’s projected work schedule issues could be dealt with. Hopefully, that matter hasn’t served to break their bond. It would be disappointing if this particular couple hasn’t remained together, as they appeared to exhibit the greatest potential to stay married.

Taylor And Brandon – Drama Followed Breakup?

Taylor admitted to being arrested in the teaser. That implied the situation was related to her ex-husband, Brandon.

Unless Brandon makes another surprise appearance, as he briefly did during the Decision Day episode, then a recorded message would be needed so viewers could get an update on his current perspective.

Reality television impacts its stars in different ways, as was seen with this couple. So, hopefully, time has allowed both parties to find peace.

Katie And Derek – Was Mutual Lease Broken?

Derek says that Katie had an affair with her ex in the teaser. That calls into question whether this couple is still together?

The Decision Day episode demonstrated that Katie and Derek didn’t have the type of deeper bond that Jessica and Austin did. Katie and Derek mutually stated that they liked each other and believed there was a potential for love to develop.

The willingness of each half of this couple to stay together and to commit to a one-year lease was encouraging. But the doubts Katie expressed earlier in the series appear to have manifested themselves in at least a betrayal of trust.

Meka And Michael – Has Anything Changed?

Since Meka previously decided that she didn’t trust Michael and wanted a divorce, it would seem unlikely that they’ve re-paired. That speculation appears to be reinforced when seeing Michael leave the group meeting as the cameras were rolling during the teaser.

Michael admitted his failings during the Decision Day episode and wanted to remain married. He was deeply hurt by Meka’s decision but seemed accepting of it.

Michael’s surprising exit during the reunion special doesn’t appear to offer new hope for this couple’s revival, but one never knows.

Mindy and Zack – Suspicions Confirmed, or Disproven?

Mindy wonders if Zack married her in order for publicity purposes during the teaser. Pastor Calvin Roberson previously challenged Zack’s true intentions on Decision Day, but he denied using MAFS in order to pursue a carer in entertainment.

Because of the separation that took place prior to Decision Day, Mindy’s decision to divorce wasn’t a surprise. The continued emphasis on Zack’s motives is intriguing, as viewers wonder if an answer can be determined?
