Married At First Sight Poll: What Issue Tops The List As Decision Day Approaches? Vote Now!

Decision day is close at hand on Lifetime’s ‘Married At First Sight’. The four remaining couples shared varied experiences during the course of their time together. But agreeing to a continued commitment means overcoming any outstanding issues.

The most recent episode of MAFS had Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd continuing to project the seemingly strongest bond. Jessica has been willing to verbally affirm her love for Austin, with his hesitancy to do so raising a red flag regarding the depth of his feelings.

Taylor Dunklin dealt with Brandon Reid’s internal issues related to his overall feelings about their relationship. Their verbal spat was troubling, but not necessarily a deal-breaker.

Katie Conrad’s two walk-offs from dinner at the couple’s retreat could arguably be tagged as jealously. Derek Sherman is having difficulties dealing with what he sees as her moods, but could actually be a normal desire to be loved.

Meka Jones believed she and Michael Watson were making progress after opening up about the economic challenges he and his mother faced when he was a child. But Michael’s Saturday departure from the retreat, so he could attend to his deceased uncle’s memorial service details, turned into another point of contention between this couple.

Jessica And Austin – Red Flag Raised, Or Workaround Possible?

Austin believes that his job could get in the way of his marriage to Jessica. Her continued stress about his work-related travel schedule is addressable.

While he hasn’t made the offer yet, Austin should be willing to request a change so that he wouldn’t be gone for as long a period each month, or would take less trips out of the area where they’ll be living. Jessica’s concerns about them being apart for extended periods of time each month, possibly extended to 10 consecutive days, are legitimate, as any newly married couple ideally needs time together.

Taylor And Brandon – Passionate Responses Confirm Bond?

Taylor wants to believe that Brandon cares about her. Hopefully that perception is accurate. If not, then his choice to walk out of the couple’s retreat reflects internal issues he’s having with remaining married.

There appeared to be no doubt that his pairing shared mutual chemistry. But making the decision to stay together goes beyond whatever initial, or continued spark they have. So, might Brandon be resisting the deep feelings he has for Taylor?

Katie And Derek – Can They Accept Each Other?

Derek believes that it’s hard for him to be around Katie when she’s upset. It would be easy to tag her as the source of all drama, but that would take half the focus off Derek and would be wrong.

Katie wasn’t irrationally upset with Derek at the couple’s retreat dinner table. She genuinely felt that he hasn’t expressed the same level of playful, openness with her as he did with the other ladies in the house, including Taylor, in particular. So, Katie and Derek’s fate will be determined by whether both people, not just one, are able to convince the other person that acceptance and love is equally offered.

Meka And Michael – Time For Trust To Develop?

Meka believes that she’s carried the marriage. It’s hard to logically argue against her. So, a good question to ask now would be whether Meka can offer Michael more time so that he learn how to trust himself?

Michael has demonstrated a willingness to be honest about his past, which Meka values. Both people have expressed a desire to remain together. That means it’s reasonable to believe that they have a chance to make their marriage last if they are willing to push even further away from their comfort zones.

Katie should (but probably never will) realize that a kind, caring, stable, responsible, committed husband IS WORTHY and INFINITELY MORE VALUABLE holding her hand than a multitude of edgy “bad boys” in the proverbial (and her) bush!
