Married at First Sight Spoilers: Austin and Jessica on Marriage During The Pandemic

Married at First Sight stars, Austin and Jessica have been placed into an odd situation that most new couples have not had to go through. Not only did they get married as strangers, but their new relationship would soon be affected by the pandemic. Austin and Jessica were one of the only couples who were successful in obtaining a happy and lasting relationship.

During the season, only two couples decided to stay married on Decision Day, but only one couple were still together when they shot the reunion/ tell-all episode. Now they are on the quarantine spinoff, MAFS: Couples Cam which means that they are now filming themselves rather than having a crew film them. This also gives viewers and fans of the couple to see where their relationship is and how things are going with them.

Married at First Sight Spoilers: Austin and Jessica on Couples Cam

So far on Couples Cam, fans have seen the changes in the new couple’s relationship due to the virus as things begin to change with Jessica’s nursing job as well as Austin being home more often. They recently talked about how they are doing as well as about their jobs and their experiences on Married at First Sight and the spin-off, Couples Cam with Distractify. The couple got their start on a reality tv show, so it makes sense that they would go back on reality tv once again to show how things are going.

During the interview, Austin about how different things are between the filming of the original series and spinoff. He stated, “A lot of people are going through rough times and maybe people can relate to what we are going through. Learning how to be at home and [be] married to a nurse on a COVID unit. The filming is a lot different because we are doing it ourselves and waiting to have a conversation till we get the cameras set up is very strange.”

Jessica of course has been under much stress due to being moved to the Covid-19 unit, which has been seen on the new series. Austin, who works as a network engineer, has recently had to start working from home due to the pandemic. During the interview, they talked about the hardest part of the effects of the quarantine on their new marriage. Austin Replied, “The hardest part has been learning to adapt to our semi-new roles. With me now home a lot more than Jess, I am doing a lot more around the house.”

Jessica talked about how she is struggling to separate her home life from her personal life. “The hardest part for me is separating work and personal life. I feel the constant need to be at the hospital or checking emails and then when I am home I also want to be helpful and do house chores. Austin has been really great in helping out more at home so I don’t have as much to do or worry about at home.”

The couple also talked about how they deal with spending so much of their time together, “Space can be good. That might be a walk or just a hobby that you do on your own time. There have been times where I have communicated to Jess that I need an evening on my own.”
